Great southern-soul food. Good value and super tasty. Not a fancy place. Many old antiques in there. You’ll like its 1960 or you’re in your grandma’s kitchen.

Great breakfast spot with plate lunch specials Monday – Friday. This Historic Downtown Monroe spot always has friendly service.

I went today to eat cause I am so sad to hear that they are closing next Friday. This has been such a great place to eat since 1984. The family was super & they knew everyone. You could go in there and there would be a judge line next to a garbage man. Everyone was welcome. They used to serve breakfast and I loved going in and hearing what all the “old guys” were talking about. The food was always good and priced right. It’s sad that all of the old monroe establishments are fading away. AND the new ones are just not up to par. Either the food is not all that and is over priced Or the service stinks. I know things dont last forever but it does not change the longing for these places that were such a part of our lives. Would some please open a restuarant with good reasonable price food with service to match

Very good food & very friendly staff. Sorry to see that y’all are closing. First time there was 25 years ago. Sorry to say that it’s been that long since I had been there. Went today to get a meal and it was great.

A great mom and pops restaurant to eat at. Working out of town the work crew and I found this place which was also recommended by the locals. Delicious food for a really good price. Ended up eating here everyday for lunch because not only was the food great but you’re served really fast and can enjoy yourself. The people working and running the place were more than friendly and genuinely good people. Will return to eat here again when working in town again.

Stopped on the way through town with the family. Easy to get to get to off the interstate and really cool decorations inside. My wife and I had the plate lunch while 2 kids had hamburgers, another a beef poboy, and the last a grill cheese. Everything was really good, and the price was very reasonable. Very glad we stopped here!

First time here and let me tell ya it’s absolutely disgusting . First walking in I thought of an old run down cafeteria. No gloves were worn and no masks . Got the fries steak with rice and Lima beans all cold with a Can coke for 9 dollars . When I asked about the size of the meal the Cashier named Dave said , Looks alright to me get it or get outta the line . Please save yourself from eating here .

We initially tried another local breakfast place but it was closed. Glad we found this place! I enjoy small mom and pop locally owned places to try when traveling. This is THE place for breakfast. The decor is a delightful eclectic mix. But the food is the star. Wonderful cooking and friendly staff in the tradition of old style diners. Loved it. Try it, you will like it!

When we pulled up at 8:30 the parking lot was empty and I was skeptical to go in. Boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. The food was delicious and the staff was some of the most pleasant folks you could ever meet. We got there late & they had sold out of biscuits. We were there too early for the chicken and dumplings but they sounded Devine. This Arizona traveler will definitely be back!! Thank you for the hospitality!!

Favorite place o eat lunch in town. Great down home cooking like Mama used to make. Cafeteria style. You choose your meal, including tea and desert for $10. Cant beat it. Not noisy or too overcrowded. Love the Old Signs on the walls too! If you like home cooking you will love this place!
