Came in from NYC, my friend took me here. We had the lamb chops, they were well seasoned and tender. Be aware that this is not a baby chop, it has a bone in. The Thai wings were crispy and hot!!!! The broccoli was my least favorite. It was definitely frozen and still kinda cold. Cat fish strips were a hit. I heard. The star of the meal was the jalapeño poppers. They were pippin hot . The two girls that served us were a dynamic duo. Amazing! Bravo. Happy hour prices were amazing . I will be visiting again.

The initial order of my companion & I didn’t come out right. My steak was over cooked even though I asked for medium & her salad came sans cheese & onions and some of the lettuce was brown. Upon bringing up these issues with staff, everything was replaced & wonderful.

Horrible food, ordered “steak Alfredo” and got left over crumbs of some sort of beef and pieces of hamburger. Like they gave me the scraps from the grill. The tomatoes in the salad were mushy and old, the salmon was okay. Maybe come for drinks ONLY! The customer service is great! The kitchen is a whole other story. BE AWARE OF THE FOOD.

The food was extremely generous portions and the lunch special prices were excellent! Great place to eat. Our entire family enjoyed it. We had never tasted garlic bread as delicious as what they gave us. Compliments to the kitchen staff!!! Customer service was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend and plan to go back when visiting Detroit again.

Very disappointed I ordered take out corn looks like it was bitten Into, the fired pork chop look very undercooked and the skin fell right off very soggy and mash potatoes cold I won’t be ordering from here again sadly this place is very reasonable with price but not worth it.

I’ve been going to Starters for over 20 years but never wrote a review. Starters is my go to spot! I’ve tried everything they’ve offered and I have my favs. Surf and turf is my fav with a light skin Long Island lol. Double lobster tails yum! Their salad is big and full filling. The service over the years have been exceptional! From the host to waitress to bartender to owners everyone is always give top tier service. They are the best local bar and happy hour. The happy hour menu try the steak bites fried shrimp and fish. Happy hour everyday 2-7 you can’t beat that! My fav location is the original on Plymouth rd. Southfield and Woodward rocks too. I’ve been to Woodward four times since May 9th. So yes I love them all. My motto is I’ll try anything once, twice if I like it!

I was very disappointed by the food I got. I came all the way from Texas and I have to come here when I come in town. However I will not be returning after the experience tonight. The food was not good, starters use to be so good but you can tell they are cutting corners on the food and service. My steak was not good. The steaks use to be full of flavor and more meaty. The porterhouse I got was full of fat and the potatoes where not good, horrible like they use water to mix them together. Upon talking to my server, she was polite and understood however the MOD didn’t. She took 3.00 off my first bill then another 3 dollars totaling 6 dollars off my bill. Now I in no way wanted her to comp my bill, just didn’t want to pay for the potatoes… it was still making me pay for my potatoes. We then had her come over to talk with the manager, I could see her irritation and frustration rising she comped my meal which I wasn’t trying to have her do, and slammed the card reader down no apologies or nothing. I will be calling the GM or the Owners office… Starters has fallen off, I pray they get it back right, this is truly a Detroit staple. Major Let Down this time!!!

The waitress (kinda tall, light skin with unlaid edges) is lucky I even left a tip. Had she been more focused on the task at hand and not socializing with everyone at the bar I would’ve left at least $20 which I normally do when provided good service. Ig she thought my guy was leaving the tip as she continuously called him hun and lightweight flirted with him when she did finally check in with us. I was there with my daughter also, which you would think that’s who she’d refer to as hun/honey but nope only him lol. Good thing I’m not insecure and my bf barely paid her any attention. Now that I think about it I shouldn’t have left a dime. She wasn’t professional at all. Didn’t even come back to settle the check because she was busy laughing & having (not serving) fun at the bar. You would’ve thought she was off the clock all that hee-heeing…

Everything was great! Although we got there 20 mins before them closing we still got fresh food, which was delicious, excellent service from Diamond, and enjoyed a great vibe! Definitely will be back!
