My husband and I stopped in on our way to Death Valley. The reviews of this being hard to find and a “hole in the wall’ are true. HOWEVER, I guarantee you will get better service, hospitality and food here than anywhere else remotely close to here. We went early and Sunny’s wasnt open yet but she kindly offered to make us breakfast anyways. While she cooked, Ed chatted with us about nearby things, and local amenities. Sunny’s breakfast burritos are HUGE and DELICIOUS! This certainly is not your typical diner, but it is 100% home cooked and ran by such wonderful, friendly people. Before we continued on our way, Sunny gave us their phone number in case anything happened and we needed them to come help. This place is such a diamond in the rough and we are so lucky to have found them! Thank you guys for everything!!

We got there when it’s completely dark and didn’t expect it to be opening, but it was! Food was great and good value. Sunny is such a nice lady, super welcoming and enthusiastic. The place is quite far down the road, and the dining part is inside of the market, might be a bit hard to find but it is good!

Sorry it took so long to write this review A lesson in not judging a book by its cover. We drove out to Sunny’s kitchen to eat before heading to Death Valley Got to the spot the satnav took us to, and there was a dirt track and a field. No restaurant! We headed back up the road after doing some googling and found a new spot where supposedly the restaurant would be. We parked up and walked in to find a ‘market’/ convenience store, but no sign of a restaurant still. We entered and looked around for a sign of someone. To the right of the shop there was a little room, with some old armchairs, random tables boxes and tvs on the wall. It looked a little, like a run down living room that someone was using for storage. Eventually a Chinese lady came out of the back. We asked her if this was Sunny’s kitchen and she said it was and that they were closed due to covid, but because she had made some food for the local school, we could come in and have something to eat. She listed off a few options – Sunny cleared a table and we sat down,, I had two vegetarian bao buns, vegetable fried rice and sticky rice, which was wrapped in bamboo leaf. my Dad had chicken strips and chips. Sunny said the rices were all homemade and it was really very tasty. Ed, the owner, came and sat with us and chatted to us for about half an hour about our lives etc. he was really kind, and had good advice about having fun in life and doing things while you can. Sunny was very friendly and was pleased I liked the sticky rice,. Once we’d finished the meal, both Ed and Sunny repeatedly offered to make us more food for free to take with us on our trip, and we ended up taking away a pot of chicken and rice, and some corn on the cob

We found this gem by luck while we were visiting Death Valley when we were tired of our hotel restaurant. This is not a regular restaurant. It’s inside of Martell Market. Everyone was very friendly and Sunny was fantastic!!

Staying nearby on a visit to Death Valley, we decided to branch out and see if there was any food in the area. This place is one of the only restaurants for miles, but you won’t regret visiting. Sunny and Ed own it and the mart next door, Martell Market, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that here you’ll get food that’s easily comparable to anything in LA or the Bay Area. The menu is a mix of Chinese, Mexican and American dishes. I can only speak to the Chinese dishes, because that’s what we had: chow mein and pot stickers (炒面和锅贴). Sunny makes them perfectly authentic and absolutely delicious – something you’d NEVER expect to find in the middle of the desert between Nevada and California, but there it is. The chow mein was cooked in a delicious savoury stock which was absorbed by the noodles, which were pretty much the perfect texture, and it was served with mushrooms, vegetables, and chicken and shrimp. The pot stickers were hand-made and crisped perfectly on the bottom, something that you honestly can’t even find in most LA restaurants nowadays.

Stopped here on our way back to Vegas from Death Valley national park, it’s a cute little restaurant connected to a store that has basically anything you’d need. Sunny, the owner of the restaurant was super sweet and helpful in helping us decide on what we should order and we were not disappointed with her recommendations, they have American, Mexican, and Chinese food options. We got the chicken and shrimp fried rice combo that comes with an egg roll , chicken fingers that come with fries and a side salad, and also a dozen potstickers. It was SO much food for such a low price and it was definitely worth it. She warned us about how large the portions were but we were starving and now we have leftovers for the next few days!! Lol. Sunny was such a sweetheart, very welcoming and friendly and you can tell she really loves to serve her community. We will definitely be stopping by again next time we’re in the area. 10/10 would recommend checking this place out. Thanks again, Sunny!

Randomly stopped here after hiking at Death Valley. This place is a general store with a small restaurant and some tables. They serve Chinese, Mexican and American food. I had the carne asada tacos which were great!

To call if a restaurant is an overstatement. Took us an hour to get a burger and some shrimp tacos. The service wasn’t great but at the end of the day at the food was actually really good. If you got to be somewhere don’t go here it takes forever but good food.
