Truly a gem in fine cuisine. The best restaurant I’ve eaten in. Comparable to or better than Michelin cuisine I’ve had in NYC but significantly cheaper. We tried some unique dishes and enjoyed each one. You can tell that each dish was very thought out and every ingredient used enhances the food experience.

The Alley Light was one of the highlights on our visit to Charlottesville and we can’t wait to go back. Their cocktails were works of art – perfectly balanced, beautiful presentation, and delicious. And everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. Our only regret is that we didn’t have a chance to try their food, which also looked incredible, but we are looking forward to that on our next visit. Make sure to make reservations, because this place gets packed.

The Alley Light is always a win, as you can tell by the near empty glasses! My group of four stopped in after dinner for a nightcap and we’re able to grab a seat at the bar to watch as their team of amazing bartenders whipped up magic.

It is a speakeasy so find out where it is before you go especially if there is a storm on the way. Fun, busy place. Every bite a delight of flavors. The server was super to suggest plates and space them out for the time we had until our movie nearby. Loved it.

One of the best foodie experiences I have had and we travel a lot. I had the sweetbreads which were prepared better than any other I’ve had in the past. My halibut was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the brocolini, the French onion soup and the mussels so we could try a few different items. He ordered the scallops for his main. Everything was exceptional. Our server was friendly and attentive. Will go back anytime I’m in Charlottesville.

Alley Light is one of our all time favorite spots. It is our go-to for an anniversary dinner even though we live about 2 hours away now. We specifically love the marinated calamari, the pork butt, and whatever risotto and desserts they have. We mostly do dealer’s choice drinks now and have never had a bad cocktail here!

Fantastic ambience and tasty cocktails. Loved the vegetable board- highly recommend it! One thing to be aware of- the kitchen is small so good comes out as it is ready. This means some folks may be finished before others get their meal. For that reason, I will save this spot for parties of 2-3.

I cannot even begin to tell express how amazing our experience was tonight!! Got to meet the husband/co-owner (Chris) of the place who was very hospitable, all three bartenders were so easy to have conversation with, Nikki and Dre made us some drinks that were way better than we could’ve ever asked for, the food was out of this world… can’t wait for our next weekend getaway because this will be our regular spot!! And can’t wait to bring friends and family to experience it all!!
