Don’t expect a 5 star gourmet meal here, it’s not that type of place, for example if you’re getting a burger you’re pretty much getting it served well-done. The food is always good though, and the fries are really delicious, they are mid sized crinkle cut ones. The people behind the counter are always friendly, straight to the point, but it vibes with the atmosphere.

We came to the Red Bank location in April 2022 around 10pm while visiting NJ from HI for a friend’s wedding. The two men behind the counter were very nice and helpful. The food was delicious, the cheese sauce was messy (yay!), and the prices were affordable.

If you look up the best hot dogs on the East Coast, Windmill should be the top choice! The snap of a Windmill hotdog can’t be beat, not to mention the great flavour. Unfortunately I don’t get here as much as I’d like, but I make the most of it when I do. I’m not saying I fall asleep dreaming of Windmill hotdogs and cheese fries, but I actually do. Windmill forever!

We got the cheese dog, chilli cheese dog, Chilli, plain dog, onion rings, cheese fries, Pepsi and a vanilla milk shake. I love cheese fries and I can these were lacking the cheese. Next time I’ll ask for extra cheese. The sour krout was delicious. You have many toppings to choose from and put on yourself. The service is great. They are super nice behind the counter. Felt right at home sitting and chatting. Looking forward to bringing the rest of my family back.

Food is good, but not the best. The service is horrible. To the larger gentleman at the counter, watch your attitude. I was asked if I wanted to add toppings (complimentary ones like pickles, relish, etc.) which I said no to, then changed my mind. After he had closed the lid to the box of my hot dog, he goes “That’s why I asked you if you wanted toppings” as he rolls his eyes. I reached for the dog to open the lid, then he takes control to do so himself, with irritation in the process.

Online says their open till 12am, the poster in the window says 3am but at 10:40pm on a Saturday night they’re closed? And then I watched a cab driver come up after they turned me away, but they let him in??

Horrible service from the night shift guy. I went at exactly 9:05pm to get some food and the door was locked. Plus the guy who was still behind the counter yelled that they were closed when it clearly states this location closes at 10pm. Several people showed up also and were shocked that it was closed so early. It’s not the first time it happens with the exact same guy. Going to long branch from now on.
