NEVER AGAIN! Worst case of food poisoning that ended with me in the hospital! I’ve called the last 2 days in attempts to speak to a manager and they couldn’t be bothered to even call me back! I know it was from here as I only had tea & toast for breakfast at home & then an early lunch from here. Within a few hours I was sick as a dog! My guess is it was the potato salad as it wasn’t very cold! My dogs & chickens wouldn’t even eat the leftovers! Pretty sad that a $20 lunch cost me a hospital bill & 2 days of work! After no answer from management I finally filed a complaint with the Health Department!

This is a little small restaurant with big taste. The value of my meal was great the brisket and turkey was delicious, the ribs was so-so ( not practically my style), but the glaring highlight was the Texas toothpicks. Which came out luke warm but still was amazingly delicious.

***NAME CHANGE*** Used to be Capps BBQ and is now House of Smoke so it’s easy to miss. It’s in an old building and if you park in the back, walk around the north side to get to the front door. We almost walked into the kitchen on the south side. We got smoked turkey (see photo) and it was moist and delicious and the BBQ sauce was perfectly smoky too, great combo! And the cheeseburger was equally delicious. It’s not a big place, only holding about 40 people.

This BBQ joint was recommended by locals. Friendly, chatty staff. I had the fried catfish with chopped brisket, side of fried okra and slaw. There wasn’t a thing on the plate I didn’t like, everything was from good (okra), to great (brisket) to fantastic (catfish). I actually never had fried catfish before, so I’m not an expert but I really liked it. The BBQ sauce was sweet, I enjoyed it as well. Decent prices too.

I went for the first time today. The waitress was nice but ignored me a lot of the time. I got one refill right before I left and spent over half of my visit with no drink. The food is great and pretty decently priced. The place is very clean and has a really nice atmosphere. Another thing I might add is that the ‘steak fries’ here are just regular french fries. You can tell by the picture I posted. A little bit of false info on their menu if you ask me.
