One of the best lowkey dive bars in downtown clemson. Cannot rave enough about Nicks. Known as more of the graduate/professor bar, they cater well to people who are nit picky about their cocktails and food selections, but each come at a very reasonable price. Known for their mozzarella sticks (best in Clemson).

Was in last night. I like to go to nicks before and after I shoot pool. I always get the same drink. I must of made the bartender mad, her name starts with an H. She called me an a$$hole and charged me $3 more for the same drink I had 2 hours earlier. It appears there’s one price for her friends and another for everyone else. I’ve spent over $500 in the last 3 months. There are lots of other bars in Clemson, time to find a new one.

Nick’s was my favorite hangout when I was a grad student at Clemson in the early 90s. Just visited again this October after the homecoming game. It’s still the best laid back bar in town.

This is one of the chillest bars in town. I love going here because everyone that works there is super nice and they have a variety of a beverage selection. You can go there by yourself or with a group of people and enjoy your time. Nick’s is also very inclusive of all and welcoming.

Good Ol’ Nicks. Best selection of beer in Clemson, friendly staff, not as loud as most of the other Clemson Bars.

What can I say about Nick’s? It’s been around probably 3 times as long as I have and I’m pretty sure everyone who grew up or went to school here knows it. It’s got a chill pub-like atmosphere that isn’t found in most Clemson bars. It feels almost wholesome in a way, which is how I like to feel before I get really messed up on expensive craft beer. It’s not a place to drink cheap. It’s not the place to go for dancing or live music. It’s the people that make it really great. It’s super cozy and friendly and they have the best microwave cheeseburger in town. Seriously, the bar food here is pretty good, and while I won’t say it’s the best value ever, the food is truly satisfying and prepared with love by really nice people. Also, you can get Redstone mead here at liquor store prices. Everyone should try Nick’s once, and then most of those people should never come back because the ones that fall in love with it need the booth space and quiet to do smart people stuff.

A staple in Clemson culture since 1976. There is no better place to stop in and try something new, unwind and hear tales of such a renowned bar. James and the rest of the bartending staff keep the drinks flowing, great food cooking and the stories coming.
