I was staying at camelback and the food was just horrible. We were driving to Walmart when I saw tropical fare I was shocked i immediately went online to read the reviews and again I was shocked. That they had so positive feedback. So I went ahead and called them on Friday to see what they had on the menu and I did ask the owner what was popular he was patient and honest. I went there later on with my husband and I told him I hope what you said is true he laughed and realize who he was talking to. My husband ordered the large stew chicken with rice and peas, it came with sweet plantain and cabbage he said it was really good just wish he got more plantains lol the veggies were perfect.

Paid over 80$ for my family of 5 for everything to be burnt, old and dry. We picked up our order 15 minutes after placing the order and we got end of the night, left over meat. We will never eat here again and will not recommend.

Literally waited 30-45 min for this $20 platter of quickly made boneless jerk chicken & rice that both was hard and dry. Not to mention I brought 2 of that same platters. I was extremely disappointed

I ordered two large plates of curried oxtail. The food was old, dry and not fresh. The rice was at least 3 days old and so hard like it wasn’t even cooked and just put on the plate. Nothing had any flavor. I don’t know how a restaurant can serve food this bad and not feel bad for the quality they are giving their customers. We waited 35 minutes for nothing. The food wasn’t fresh so I don’t know what took them so long to put it all together. The plantains were the only thing on the plate that was cooked fresh and had taste to it. This was obviously not because of the restaurant but because sweet plantains are AWESOME! I tried this place for the first time today because the normal restaurant me and my family normally go to and love was closed. I will never go back to this place again. We spent good money on two plates full of tasteless, overcooked and dry meat, cabbage and rice. The owners of this place should be ashamed of themselves for selling such garbage. Also it wasn’t authentic curry Jamaican at all. This place will not be open for much longer if they continue to sell such low quality old not fresh food. I uploaded a picture of the rice so you can witness exactly how dry and old it is. It rastes like you are eating carsboard. In fact cardboard has more flavor and isn’t as dry. I am still shocked the owners believe it is okay to pass this food onto customers without feeling guilty. Unbelievable!

I have been driving by this place since they opened and I am glad I was finally able to eat food from here! I got the Spicy Beef Patty, the large Jerk Chicken entree and the Lemon Pepper Wings. All of the food was fantastic, the Jerk chicken is nice and juicy and they cook it on the big cast iron grill out in front of the restaurant. The pricing is fair with the exception of the chicken wings, for 6 wings and a side of fries you are spending almost $13. The flavor of of wings is great but personally I don’t see myself getting the wings again for that price point. This is a very small place with about 4 tables in the restaurant, but they made it nice and cozy for those that choose to dine in.

I got jerk chicken,Mac and cheese, and a side order of plantains. Overall it was really good, the plantains were really sweet and juicy the Mac and cheese and rice was good too! The flavor of the chicken was good, but it was just too spicy for me but next time I’ll try the curry chicken instead from here !

I clled my order in waited 30 min to go pick it up and when I arrived it still wasnt ready. Had to wait 25 min for my food to be ready. When he was preparing it he gave me 2 scoops if curry goat I asked for more and he gave me 2 little peices with a whole bunch of rice. When I ate the food it had no taste at all it was bland no flavor no seasoning at all. I will never eat at this place again. Don’t waist your time you won’t get enough food and it will be bland with no taste.

The man that took our order was friendly. Took over an hour for us to leave with our order correct, and we were the ONLY 2 people there. Some of the chicken prepared fresh and also already made was under cooked. Flavor of the food was not great, but okay for what wasn’t still pink or bleeding. Not a great experience. Wish it was better.

My family and I visited the Poconos Mountains and decided to try this restaurant. Well we’re glad we did, it did not disappoint. The food was good, oxtail and curried goat on point. We will definitely visit again when we’re in the area. Good food!
