I placed an order and I think they raise prices at night because they think anyone calling after 10pm is drunk. I loved this place as a kid but I’ll never order from here again. I will never eat here again. I left the pizza on the table. The meat tasted rancid, and I became very sick by the time I got to my hotel. My coworker enjoyed his pizza, and customers were picking up orders. I ordered a deep dish pizza because this was my first time in Chicago, I’mnot sure why my pizzawas were so bad, but that’s 20 dollars I threw in the trash. The one thing I can say is that the 2 slices of pizza I ate didn’t stay for long. I was later told by the people I was in that town training that the pizza is a hit or miss. I was also told that my pizza may not have been done. The rancid tasting meat is what made me stop eating it. I was so hungry that I didn’t taste anything when I ate the first slice.

First time customer and I loved it . Everything about the pizza is extra that really isn’t necessary to make it a good pie . Very generous w/ the cheese and toppings . Excellent homemade taste to the crust . I carried out but the place is clean and very quaint / authentic. Sam actually waited on me and he’s super friendly he’s been doing this 51 years since he was a boy .

My husband and I were visiting the area and wanted to find something that was unique to the town, we came upon Sam’s while walking around downtown it smelled amazing from the outside we had to try them out! We had such fun time visiting with the owner and family and the pizza was so delicious that you won’t be able to go to a chain without knowing that it won’t ever taste as good as Sam’s 🙂 If we’re ever in the area again I’ll definitely be stopping in! (We had the deep dish pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese/Hawaiian)
