Went for a dinner. Quite elegant ambiance, better for small groups of people. We went quite early ~5:30pm and the service was fast and great. The dishes are tasty, but the amount of each dish is not large. The cocktails were great, worth a try.

Nice place food is just mediocre. Would have given four stars if it weren’t so overpriced. Everything tastes just fine. The suckling pig you can tell it takes time to make it but it just tastes bland. We had high expectations going in.

Loved this upscale downtown New Haven restaurant. I booked a early dinner for my husband’s birthday, and 5:30pm on a Friday was the earliest and only non-bar seat availability. So, I’d recommend definitely getting a reservation ahead of time. Additionally, the food and experience was phenomenal. We also had a daily menu mushroom soup (it was out of this world) and there was a complimentary birthday small desert they brought out for my husband.

Start to finish a wonderful experience. Celebrated dad’s 85th birthday. Great energy and still able to hear each other. Food and service were on point. Salmon, gazpacho, eggplant cannelloni dishes were all delicious! Highly recommend.

Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a nicer spot around Yale for dinner. I sat at their bar since their tables were fully reserved, but the service and food was superb. I got the duck leg confit and the flavors on the plate were awesome (my picture doesn’t do it justice). My server was Daniel and he was very nice, even surprised me with a little complimentary desert at the end of the meal. Also I would recommend getting one of their cocktails, I got the autumn orchard and it did not disappoint.

In my opinion the best upscale restaurant in New Haven. The prix fixe menu is fantastic. I kept telling my husband it was the best salad I’ve ever had! The beef short rib risotto was so rustic and comforting. Both of the desserts we had were incredible. The Yuzu mignonette was incredibly creative and delicious.

Excellent, inventive food and service that goes the extra mile with a pleasant modern ambience. Although the menu doesn’t specify, they offer a number of delicious gluten free choices— including desserts–and will make accommodations, such as providing gf crackers instead of bread. A lovely experience.

Our dinner at Olea was excellent in every way. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and they truly made me feel special on my birthday! The staff was extremely attentive. The food was incredibly flavorful- it was hard to narrow down our appetizer choices to only 2 orders! The dinner portions were perfect. The restaurant also takes allergies seriously, as my husband is allergic to nuts/peanuts. When they brought over a special dessert for my birthday, they provided a substitute for him that he could have- so kind! The parking experience was also seamless, as the restaurant will validate parking for you if you park at 2 of their preferred garages. We will most definitely be back!
