The concept of Real Barbecue and great Ribs started out with a small family-style barbecue operation in 1989 on U.S. 41 in Fort Myers, Florida. With the success of that location a second restaurant opened in Cape Coral in 1990.
Having outgrown the small location on U.S. 41, by 1992, a move was made up the street to a larger building along with partners Paul and Craig Peden, successful restaurateurs in Southwest Florida for over 20 years. Later that same year, they converted a Fort Myers Beach location into a Rib City®, and the legend continued. In 1994, a location in North Naples was opened and Rib City’s® award-winning Baby Back Ribs were now available in two counties.

My family and I were vacationing through Colorado and stopped in Montrose for lunch. We walked past this place and decided to give it a try since my dad is on a meat only diet. This place is a true American style restaurant. Lots of meats and side options. I’m a fried okra fanatic so of course I had to give them a try and they were some of the best I’ve ever had! The meats were all very juicy and tender. I also decided to try their peach beer and it was delicious. Overall, great service, food and drinks – highly recommend to anyone looking for a meat spot while in Montrose!

Easy to find, smells absolutely wonderful as soon as you walk in the door. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Prices were good for this type of place (BBQ is always more expensive and this was on the reasonable side)

Mediocre at best… Hostess greeted us promptly, however our server Darcy was unfriendly, unwelcoming and unpleasant. My husband and I both ordered the Friday special which was a 1/2 rack of ribs & shrimp. The 1/2 rack had good flavor, but was extremely SMALL and the french fries tasted like they came from an elementary school cafeteria- soggy and freezer burned. Before we had even finished half of our our meal, Darcy through down the check. When I asked what desserts they offered, she was noticeably annoyed and quickly rambled the selections while rolling her eyes.

This was a nice night for dinner out with the husband. We have loved Rib City Grill in Grand Junction. To night Jim and I went to the RCG in Montrose. We had a nice meal, good company, and lots of meat for the money. They have a great menu and drinks with the meal. We loved the food and will be going there again. The restaurant was clean well lit and warm. Bring the hole family to enjoy a great meal. This is a medium priced restaurant.
