This is a great little diner that is very affordable. I had the Kayes omelette which has just about everything in it. The eggs were fluffy and nothing was dry. The pancake was sweet and a great texture. I did not feel it needed syrup myself. When doing a side of fruit I usually like more variety but the melons were at least fresh. The staff was very nice, welcoming, and attentive. This is a great place for either yourself or a group but parents there is no changing table in the men’s restroom, I can’t speak for the women’s.

I really want to give this place a higher rating, the people here are great, the service and atmosphere are great, good portion for the price. However, the 2 chicken fried steaks my partner and I ordered were bland, almost like they completely forgot to season them as I didn’t taste anything but the crusts and the gravy on top. On the other hand, the hash brown and eggs were awesome, everything else looks great but at the end of the day, I came for the chicken fried steak and it was a letdown. Maybe I’ll come back to try it again another day as it could just be an off day.

Even though it was quite crowded (I went on the weekend) but the long wait was worth it, the food looked good and tasted good. I ordered the strawberry pancake and it was fluffy and the sourness of the strawberry helped balance the sweet syrup but most noticeably the food’s proportion is quite large, I wasn’t able to finish it but with the price it’s a good deal. I also ordered a savory dish of omelette filled with veggies with hash browns (OMG so good) with very well toasted wheat bread that surprised me. I’ll definitely return and try more dishes

I genuinely don’t know how this place has the rating it does. Went a little bit ago …had a the worst pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Not only was it disgusting,it was cold,way over cooked to where the pastrami resembled beef jerky not to mention the extremely small serving. That was my meal ,my mom had chicken fried steak it was also old,cold and the gravy wasn’t even warm also very disappointing. My dad who we took their for Father’s day got the steak breakfast once again the steak was barely warm potatoes were raw and eggs were cold…add in the fact we were sitting at the worst table ever that was lopsided and anytime you’d eat the table would rock and tip to whoever decided to pick up and put down their drink ultimately cause my orange juice to spill all over my dads plate…but to my surprise he wasn’t upset over that he actually mentioned it was a good excuse not to eat what he described as lousy …so we spent 60 tipped 20 because it was a sweet older woman but my dad wanted to say something because it was by far the most horrible dining experience we’ve had in a long time. Clearly they failed 3/3 times and if it’s that consistently I think it’s time for a new chef as well as new menu

Delicious food and excellent service from everyone here. Our kids devoured their food and us adults practically cleaned off our plates. I had the eggs benedict with fruit(watermelon slices and pineapple slices) and my husband had the chicken fried steak; so good and wholesome! If we ever find ourselves back here we will make sure to have breakfast at Kaye’s Kitchen. Thank you Marianna!

I went to Kaye’s Kitchen Tuesday March 16 for breakfast. My mom found out about this place from one of her friends. I had the steak and eggs with home fries for breakfast. With coffee of course. The coffee here is good and they keep bringing it. I’m definitely going back. The restrooms are clean. They have the best service. So if you are in Garden Grove, California. You should try it. Prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly.
