I just tried Aggies for my first time. I got a pound of brisket. I asked the lady when it come out of the smoker and she told me it came out of the smoker just a little while ago. To my surprise I got a pound of beef that appears and tastes like it was microwaved. I have a feeling that might have been pretty good if it wasn’t reheated in the fashion that it was. Overall this place strikes me more as a family diner that serves some barbecue. It does not strike me as a barbecue restaurant.

Our new favorite local BBQ joint! It used to be a Rams Horn and during the transition to Auggies Smokehouse was underwhelming, but it has since done a complete 180 degree change. The burnt ends are so tender they fall apart and perfectly seasoned so that they don’t need an ounce of sauce or seasoning. The pulled pork sandwich is my favorite in Detroit; it’s cooked, seasoned and sauced perfectly, it didn’t need a drop of BBQ sauce to taste amazing. The brioche roll brings it all together and completes a delicious sandwich. All the different meats I’ve had were perfectly cooked and delicious, and I grew up eating Texas BBQ in San Antonio and Port Aransas, TX. If you tried Auggies Smokehouse during the transition and weren’t impressed, or if you’re just looking for great BBQ in Northern Macomb County do yourself a favor and follow the scent of the smoking meat you can smell from 23 Mile Rd and turn into Auggies. You absolutely have to give it (another) try – ever since it became a dedicated BBQ joint it’s turned into one of the best around!

Saturday night we called in a carryout for two regular hamburgers medium with swiss. When I got home the burgers were burnt on the bottom with American cheese and bacon and onions on both…. Tasted terrible!!!

This is A great place to chill. Waitstaff is nice and efficient. Food is decent portions for the price you pay. I live in Pontiac and I will be back.

First time here and we tried the all you can eat fish the cornbread was gross as was the coleslaw and the plate came with tiny pieces of fish they ran out! Service was mediocre at best we wont be back
