Beautiful hidden gem on 14th st. It was raining when we went but the atmosphere was so cozy and cute ☺️. I ordered the drink that came in the pineapple and this drink is recommended. It’s a drink for 2 at $25 can’t beat that. Calamari was good and the food presentation was beautiful just could get a pic of the food because I was hungry and tipsy from the pineapple drink. I had an amazing time and will definitely come back.

Very yummy! Lots of great flavors, good service, and drinks were also great (between 5 of us we tried most of the cocktails)! The nachos, corn, and octopus pizza were highlights for me. Ceviche was also delicious.

Somewhat a bar scene place, all you can eat and bottomless drinks are a great value if you are hungry and thirsty. Food is good but mostly lunch and dinner items. If you want more of a breakfast I’d skip here. The Guacamole was amazing. Fantastic service.

Out of town visiting DC area. Got recommended this restaurant on google BY FAR BEST Mexican food I have Tasted in a LONG time ! Hits so many taste buds and the flavors to the food is amazing, well complimented plates over all. Server was super nice and attentive. Ordered the “shrimp alambre.” and as entree ordered the “Nachos al carbon.” All an all 10/10 check this place out !!

Best place for Mexican sea food in DC so far. Besides the vibrant ambiance and the drinks and tacos, a noteworthy mention has to be made for the ceviche and aguachile. The ceviche is a dish shared with other cultures, but the aguachile – which is more raw, juicier, and spicier than a ceviche – is endemic to Mexican culture and Anafre comes as close as can be to nailing it.

A small group of friends and I googled for a nice place to eat near a summit we attended in Washington DC. We agreed on Mexican food at Anafra because it was highly rated with nice mouth- watering pictures.

This might be the best Mexican restaurant in DC, at a fantastic price. Its competitors are far more expensive, too. I highly recommend the nachos, which are more like little tlayudas carefully topped with richly seasoned meat, cheese, and vegetables, not the mounds of sparsely covered tortilla chips that usually pass for the term. As the pictures show, it’s also a beautiful restaurant. The service is quick and excellent, and the atmosphere is much more relaxed than some other top DC Mexican restaurants.

It’s always a shame when the kitchen staff is doing a fantastic job, but the front of the house staff ruins all their hard work. We really enjoyed our food, but we sat at the bar and our bartender treated us with nothing but disdain, even though we were the only two people sitting at the bar. We would’ve happily stayed longer and spent more money, but instead we left, and most likely will never come back. Real shame because the food was really good.

Fantastic Mexican seafood, beef dishes, and something I’ll try next visit – “Mexican pizza”. I had the salmon carbon and my wife had the flautas appetizer as her entree. The salmon was perfect with bold seasoning and some really good potatoes. The flautas came with a sweet mole sauce – also spectacular. We had a couple of the speciality cocktails, which were good but not my favorite. You might like them better, though. The mezcal was a bit smoky for our taste. Great little place.
