Somehow I’ve managed to never visit Roux before- I realized tonight that’s been a tremendous loss.

Great French bistro food. Space can get cramped and loud, but not unexpected for the size of the place and the French vibe. Not sure if they were short or not, but our server seemed a little rushed and frazzled (Saturday night rush.) Food was great no complaints

Had a very nice meal here on 4/28/23 with myself my sister and our mom. We shared a few apps and each got an entree. The service was great and the food was delicious across the board. Cocktails were on point as well. Will definitely be going back and confidently recommend to others

Food sucks. Quality is really bad. Got the steak which they cooked to my liking but was just bad meat and chewy. Fries are soggy, crab pasta tastes like Mac and cheese with canned crab on top. Way to over priced for the quality. They’re trying to copy the vibe of Good Luck but the food is defiantly not worth the price. Most definitely over priced. Waiters are nice, ambiance inside was nice, even plate display was okay BUT again, food wasn’t tasty. I would accept the price tag on it if it actually tasted good…

Do not get the pork cutlet. Worst meal I’ve had in years. Hard, dry, tasteless, mostly fat-fried breading over gristly thin pork. I had to fight to cut it and pulled fat globules out of my mouth. I didn’t say anything to the very nice server because we were with friends and I didn’t want to ruin their experience. They all had the steak and were enjoying their meals. But I want to warn others not to waste their money on this particular – awful – meal.

I just went for the first time last Friday and I can say I did not leave disappointed. I ordered the escargot, lobster roll and soften the blow (drink) and everything was amazing! I personally wished I’ve chosen another drink because it was my first time trying anything with absinthe (sweet medicine type taste) but it did the job. My friend ordered the mussels, swordfish and a rosé. She said the rosé was extremely acidic which is why she didn’t finish her glass but that was her only complaint. Other than our drink choices everything else was (like I said earlier) amazing! Lovely atmosphere, savory foods, and great customer service. I will definitely be back.

Exquisite find in Rochester – feels like ones in Europe with a laid-back, sophisticated atmosphere… food is excellent yet simple- highly recommended.

We waited over an hour for our food. That is not an exaggeration. We had a 7:30 reservation. We arrived early and got our food at 8:45. We had to ask twice to find out what was happening. They finally admitted that our order didn’t get to the kitchen. They gave us bread and some champagne, but took nothing off the bill. When I complained, they took off one round of drinks. That came to $16 on a $120 bill. Less than 10% for over an hour wait. The food was good, but this was very disappointing.

My wife and I celebrated our 22nd Anniversary here. From Chicago, we were in town moving our daughter in to UR for her sophomore year. Food, service, drinks, ambience, vibe, temperature, noise level, lighting, everything was excellent! Perfect! Could not ask for a better evening. Highly recommend!

I will never recommend this place to anyone. We waited well over an hour for our appetizer, while watching people who arrived after us receive their entrees before our even appetizer got to us. It’s not like the place was busy as only about 1/3 (perhaps less) of the tables were occupied. The waitress did nothing to communicate the delay to us and she certainly did not even acknowledge the delay. The escargot appetizer was ok. It was comparable to the frozen kind you get from a grocery store, and the bread was stable. The entrees were not worth the wait or the price. Credit where credit is due: the aioli, fries, and cocktails were decent. However, the steak was tough and chewy, and the special (rabbit stew) had no seasoning and tasted quite dreadful. It was low effort and low quality, despite having so much potential. There are plenty of excellent French options in Rochester, and Roux is certainly not one of them.
