Food took forever to get some of it – 30 mins. It was cold when it came. Pizza tasted like spaghetti sauce. Never got one meal. No refills. Charged my bill twice then drove back to get it corrected. Refused to correct my cc charge. Never has such a terrible experience at a restaurant. Buyers Beware!

The atmosphere was an awesome nod to the age of the building. Very clean and quiet music. The food was ok. The sandwich size is like what you’d make at home- nothing special. The sweet potato fries were burnt.

I spend a lot of time on the road for my occupation so I like to think that I’ve eaten in some pretty good places. I was lucky enough to have a dinner at the bar with a group of fellow engineers at LuBars and COULD NOT be happier with my experience there. I have been back twice a week for two months ever since. The atmosphere is perfect (I’ve only been downstairs), the barkeeps are kind and very personable. The wings are perfect, the beer is cold and the pizza is top notch. The steaks are……good, but I cannot complain. The overall feel of the place is great. The food is good, the people are great, why go anywhere else? Just my humble opinion.

Adorable little bistro with quaint decor. We stopped in to eat as we were passing through town for a weekend getaway. Our server was so sweet and seemed to know and care about the “regulars” who came in. I ordered the catfish sandwich with sweet potato fries and a strawberry daiquiri, and my boyfriend ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries and a beer. Both were delicious. They have several flavors of gelato so we had a scoop of that as well; it was divine. Our bill was much cheaper than expected — less than $30. We will stop here again if we are ever passing through in the future.

Really disappointed in this place. The wife and I came from out of town and looked on line to see what restaurants were in Carlyle. We decided to try the Lubar and Bistro on Friday, October 7, 2016. The web page said they were open at 11 AM. We arrived at 11:10 AM and the place was closed and all lights were off inside. We sat and waited on the bench outside until 11:20 or so and then returned to our vehicle where we waited another 5 to 10 minutes. The place never opened. We had chosen to ignore the reviews about how the place was run and the lack of caring that some folks had perceived. We never got in to try the food or see the service but the lack of responsibility exhibited by not opening on time would lead me to believe that I would have agreed with some of the others. Fortunately the day was not lost and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and great service at the Fish House at Dam East. Maybe we will try again some time but with me, I doubt it.

Just about everything there was frozen before it was cooked (meats, breakfast foods, anything fried). My friend’s son went there and waited 20 minutes for service (they weren’t busy), never got any attention, and walked out. The chefs are not very well trained. The “brick oven” isn’t really brick, but the pizzas still taste good for having come from frozen crust. This is one of the “nicer” non-chain restaurants for the area but the food is mediocre. The atmosphere is nice as long as they aren’t “dead.” Then, it feels like all the employees are listening to your conversation because there isn’t anything else for them to do. The pre-made fried foods are ok, the salads are good as long as you catch it when the ingredients are fresh (the house dressing is good), and their ranch dressing is the best in the area (it’s better than their “chipotle ranch”).

The food was good for one of us but not for the other. The waiter was very sweet tried to get to the whole restaurant by herself. She did well but the staff in the kitchen let us and her down. Will try again.

Went there for lunch when I was on a business trip. Ordered a buffalo chicken pizza, waited 45 minutes, and then received a Lubar’s special pizza. Pizza wasn’t bad. Just not what I ordered. Went back to the worksite and a couple guys told me the place has gone downhill ever since the previous manager left and all the cooks left with her. I’d have to agree with them.

Restaurant was chilly, service was so-so. Pizza was very good though, even though it wasn’t the kind we ordered. They have gelato and ice cream. The gelato was delicious. We had banana carmel praline and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. We didn’t get any this time, but they do have a selection of frozen adult beverages that are pretty good.
