Staff was extremely friendly, food was good, good selection, and prices are decent. Daily specials and fresh deserts!

I’ve never been disappointed at North Star. Large portions for the price, good food, friendly staff, clean facility. I usually call in my order and pick up at the drive through. It’s always ready within the time given. When we want Seaford, or, in my wife’s case, fried whole catfish, this IS the place we go.

I expected great seafood, but instead, got something very mediocre. Swordfish was NOT fresh, not anywhere close to fresh. Wasn’t topped with anything either, which might have helped, if it had been. Side of grilled shrimp was 5 pieces, which was more than a dollar a piece. Fried combination meal was nothing better than captain d’s or LJS. Crab cake was fried stuffing, essentially. 95% breading/pepper mixture, maybe 5% “crab” (I’m guessing imitation, at that). Extremely disappointed.

Perhaps today they were not having a good day seeing as this was recommended to me as good place to eat. The place is very clean, good parking, somewhat friendly waitress…but the main food, why I came here, grilled Mahi Mahi…I am no chef but I have eaten and cooked Mahi Mahi prob. more than 100 times; either the fish was old or it was left out to dry, on 1 to 5, 1 for dry 5 for perfect moisture this was a 2.

The daily special was delicious: lightly battered, not greasy, and great flavor.

My family and I went to North Star last night and it was fantastic. Hubby and I ordered the pork chops and broiled flounder and shared. My daughter ordered the marinated chicken and offered us bites as well. Everything I put in my mouth was excellent. Not only was the food fantastic, the service was great. They even offered a free plate of baby shrimp and fries for my two year old! Normally I would just have her share from my plate. We paid less than we do at the fish camp we normally go to for better food. I think we have a new favorite fish camp!

They would have gotten a 5 star but unfortunately I had an issue with a server assuming what I wanted and was nasty about it, so I politely declined her service and asked for someone else to serve our party. It was my mom’s birthday and that lady was not friendly enough to any of us. They should retrain to be sure of friendly courteous service. I will say the food and second server was great.

We have eaten here for many year. We have not ever been disappointed! They have some of the freshest tasting seafood in this county. The batter that they use is light so you can taste the seafood. Their menu is diverse. This is a great place for small or large groups. Just call ahead if you need seating for large groups. Also, it’s a good place to take kids. They enjoy the food and the atmosphere. We get take out plates from here often.

We went on a Friday night kind of early and got right in with no wait. We were quickly served great food at decent prices. Our waitress was friendly and left us alone when we needed to be. The food came out quickly was piping hot and tasted fresh. I got Calabash shrimp my husband got flounder and catfish. Both came with sides of slaw and your choice of potato. It was very good and we’re glad we discovered this place for ourselves.

The food was good but the portion size was very small. My husband ordered the grilled feast for $22 (grilled flounder, jumbo shrimp and grilled scallops) We were both shocked when she brought the plate to the table. We considered sharing the plate and me ordering a small salad. It’s a VERY good thing we didn’t. Lesson learned!
