Don Pancho had a vision to create a fast casual Mexican restaurant that would provide true Mexican flavor. This is how the Palenque chain was born. Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico and now a U.S. citizen, Don Pancho originally founded El Pollo Loco© which was a success that led him to open his first Taco Palenque® back in 1987 in Laredo, Texas. Taco Palenque® is mainly known for its authentic Mexican tacos.
It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. In fact, positive word of mouth has had a major impact on our satisfied customers. There are several Taco Palenque® locations operating throughout the south region of Texas and are continuing to grow.

Al pastor tacos were a huge disappointment! Service was fast. Chips were hard, and the salsa was not the best… price was high for the quality of food they were serving!

Food is amazing, space inside is huge, there’s a little indoor play area for children, and there’s free level 2 Tesla charging.

Fajita was cold. Tortillas were cold and hard, I had to ask for fresh ones. My father found a piece of bitten tortilla in his menudo. For the price, I expect fresh quality food. Unfortunately, my family and I will not be coming back here.

Food was great service was decent but the overall location was below average. Place was dirty and I preferred to take my dinner to the hotel and eat there. Hopefully they work on keeping the atmosphere better so people can feel comfortable.

Worst choice to grab lunch coming back to Laredo…. restaurant is extremely dirty, ladies room was closed, there were tourist buses arriving going northbound to a no restroom service, very bad. And the food was horrible, I paid $20 for a fajita plate served on a tiny styrofoam wobbly plate…. rice was reheated so much…. beans were regular, tortillas were undercooked (as usual)…. oh no! Please management staff…. you have no presence here….. Taco Palenque in Laredo is so well known and delicious…. what’s the problem here…. no, no, no, very disappointing.

Stopped by after a long day in the oilfields. The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. I’m a fan of the pirata taco. The have a nice chip and salsa bar. Also, self serve fountain drinks which is a plus. Another added bonus is they have Pibb instead of Dr.Pepper. This establishment however could be a little more clean.
