My wife and I have been enjoying JJ’s for about 5 years now. Every time one of us is in the area we coordinate a pick up. The garbage plate is a Rochester area culinary monster that has found its way into hearts and homes all over. Jose Joe’s twist is the garbage plate burrito and it’s amazing – deep fried in a tortilla. You have to try this place, its incredible. Also portions are large – which is one of my favorite aspects of any meal.

Pleasant and prompt service! Love this location and the option to dine out doors. The food was prepared exactly how I asked. I could eat this salad everyday and my daughter thinks the deep fried José frito is the best.

Huge, inventive menu. Fast & good. I was delighted the staff taking my order took care to check a handy reference chart for my dietary restrictions. Reassuring & awesome care even tho very busy. A big step above typical fast Mexican fare!

We were looking for a quick lunch along Lake Ontario and came across this one. Had a bunch of favorable reviews, so we stopped. Had the Jose Carne burrito. I didn’t realize you could use Steak-um meat in a burrito. It had no flavor. The diet coke had an odd cherry flavor. Ate 4 bites and left hungry. The cashier was very friendly and pleasant.

I’m a local service dog trainer (RochesterNYDogs.com) and went to dinner here for one of my students training sessions as towards the end of training we do public access tests. The staff was amazing and didn’t try to pet the dog. At one point someone even informed another associate “that’s a service dog, he’s working, etc.” To top everything off, the food was great and the price was reasonable.

I’ve ordered a few times from here so far and each time was very good. The food was tasty – seasoned perfectly – not too much and not too little. The ingredients seem very fresh. If you like Mexican style food you should try it – I’ve had a chicken burrito (fried the outside of it), beans and rice, nachos, a great chicken sandwich, and a taco salad.

I ordered a veggie burger and fries for my son and a burger and Mac salad for myself. I also tipped them for their service. They made a mistake & gave me 2 Mac salads. I told the Karen behind the counter that I need fries for my son and she tells me if I give her the mac salad back she’ll give me fries. I’ve worked in restaurants too & when we make the mistake we tell the customer to keep the food because we have to throw it out anyways. When my cousin asked her if she was going to throw it out she just looked at her pivoted and threw it in the trash. It was rude, condescending and it was very wasteful. Im far from cheap however it was the way she looked & responded. I won’t be back.
