I ate there two years ago and failed to write a review. Shame on me as it is still a wonderful memory of great food and a new friend. I had read the reviews and knew the owner’s name was Larry. When I opened his door he was behind the counter and I called out his name like we were old friends. He looked a little puzzled but gave my family and I a warm welcome. From the reviews I read, I inquired if Deb, (a waitress) was working today. Now he really looked puzzled. We ordered our food (there were 5 of us so we had a little bit of everything) all the while talking with Larry. We were there at an “off” hour and pretty much had the place to ourselves. I finally told Larry that I only knew him through the reviews and we all had a big laugh. From then on we were not customers we were family. I have never laughed so hard swapping tall tales with him throughout our meal there. It’s one of those times you never want to end. The Best BBQ I had from Florida to Colorado and I eat a lot of BBQ. The BEST food and some of the best memories were made sitting at the table at this restaurant with a fine gentleman who knows his BBQ. I hope he remembers us as fondly as we remember him. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I don’t write reviews of places often, but this place has by far the best brisket I’ve ever had. The ribs and pulled pork were excellent as well, but seriously, get the brisket, you will not be disappointed. The BBQ sauce was great as well. Also, if you like spicy food, get the green Chile. My little one liked the Mac and cheese. Next time I am driving I‐80, I’m going to have to divert down this way for some more brisket.

Wife and I have been here 3 times this week. Larry the owner came out and introduced himself to us. He does most if not all of the cooking .We have had several items off the menu. All worth reordering again. Ribs are top notch, chicken and pulled pork is delicious..He is considering a buffet and a all chicken night. If you are in the area it is a must stop.

Awesome BBQ and even better people and service. It’s all about the meat. Ribs, brisket, sausage, you name it! Don’t miss the potato salad and slaw (150 years old recipe). Its all good. So good, we got more to-go. Ask for Larry if he’s on site but the entire staff is very kind and gracious. A1!! Well worth planning a stop in Walden if you are passing through the area.

We stumbled upon this place while driving to Steamboat and loved it!! The pork nachos were our favorite and was enough for two. We also got the sausage link and a side of green chili. Be sure to try the green chili!! We had a great chat with the owner, Larry, and enjoyed hearing how he got started in the BBQ business. Charming place, charming owner, and great food!

Seemed like a good place to eat! My wife complained as she always does! I did want a dish of the coleslaw but, was told that they were out. So, I ordered my second choice, only to hear them tell someone else that they could have some coleslaw.
