Everything was perfect! I had a group of four others with me so we were able to get a little of everything (Fish, tenderloin, fried potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans and 3 desserts). The restaurant was packed but don’t let the line scare you as it moves fast! The owner was right there working with his employees and making sure everything is to perfection.

Happy FRYday! I stopped in to Ye Olde Fish House for lunch to go. I hadn’t been there in years. I got the special and came home with a gigantic fish sandwich, creamy Cole slaw and root beer. You can order whatever sides and drink you want. The folks there are very friendly and they are quick! There was a good line and they got to us quickly. My fish sandwich was piled high with freshly fried fish and it was heavenly! Crunchy with a light coating and you can choose what toppings you like-mustard, mayo and pickles for me! The creamy slaw was divine! You know this place is good by all the returning customers in there. They are in the blue building at 2024 17th Street. They are open Monday-Friday. You will definitely want to give them a try!

Food delicious! I had pecan pie also. Jimmie is diabetic so he couldn’t have desert. That is a suggestion that you include a sugar free desert. We enjoyed being there with friends from Elletsville, Indiana.

What a treat! I love a place that only does a couple of things but does them really well. This is definitely a local joint, every one seemed to know everyone else and the staff treated us the same. The fish sandwiches are delicious and a hefty size to boot. I ate the whole thing. The only caveat is they don’t have a public restroom, something to do with the building code when they opened way back in the day. Anyway, loved it and would eat here again.

Don’t sleep on this place. Best fish sandwich in town. Probably the best Indiana style pork tenderloin sandwich in the area. Homemade pies are great too. They also have a reward card. Buy 10 lunch combo’s and the next is free. My only problem is deciding on fried potatoes or the baked beans. You could get both but then you wouldn’t have room for that slice of pie you saw when you came in.

People always complain about local places with good food and service disappearing, well make sure that doesn’t happen and support Ye Olde Fish House. Our first visit was great, super friendly, hot crispy fish sandwiches, the best fried taters we’ve had since Grandma got out the cast iron and a gooey slice of pecan pie. We could’ve easily spent more at a fast food place and not have had half as good a time.

What a great find! It’s a tiny place, with a limited menu, but what they have is done really well! I got the fish sandwich, and they really loaded it up! The side of mac n cheese was pretty good, too. Better than what you get at most places. And it’s all super-fast, too. Got a small window of time for lunch? This is a perfect spot. The folks working there are super friendly, and you can tell that they really appreciate their customers. All that, and a drink for a $10 bill. You just can’t beat it! I’m looking forward to going back and giving the tenderloin a try!

When was the last time you were out to eat and a manager stopped at every table to see if everyone was satisfied. It happened at Ye Olde Fish House this week, and it was the kind of service that calls you to return.
