Good place for noodles and Asian food. They have the best crab rangoons ever. Go during lunch because portions are the same as dinner, but half the price. Wait staff could be friendlier, but they get the job done. Owner is very sweet. My favorite is the Dan Dan noodles. I like how they side rooms for larger parties. And you can make reservations for them. Not American Chinese food, slightly more authentic. I have only tried their Asian Cuisines, never tried their American dishes.

I’m a big fan of pho but sadly I hadn’t discovered any places in Terre Haute until now. Upon entering, you see that The Rice and Pasta Shop has a large and inviting atmosphere. My friend and I both ordered the Dan Dan Mein with shredded pork that included either an egg roll or crab rangoon (the lunch special is under $8 so we were really excited about the value). I received my 1 dainty crab rangoon that was cooked very well. My only gripe of the whole experience is that I didn’t have more. I began wondering if the portion of pho would be lacking as well but I was pleasantly surprised by the massive bowl of pho presented! This was a wonderful dish that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys pho or is interested in trying new things. The noodles were cooked well, the pork had great flavor, and the broth was excellent. This is a great value for college students and adults alike, highly recommended!

Great atmosphere and delicious food. I’ve seen a few negative comments about bland food and I understand their reaction. This is a fusion restaurant although dominantly Asian cuisine and the Asian dishes are much more authentic than the typical Americanized version people are accustomed to. The food is delicate and the flavors are fresh and subtle, not overly sweet and salty. I personally prefer spicier dishes, but I understand this is just not their style. I am absolutely crazy about the homemade rice noodles.

Had the spicy ramen, wasn’t super spicy like I thought it would be, but delicious none the less. A very classy place, with prices to make you return again and again. I can’t wait to return to try other things on their menu

Awesome food. Definitely value for your money. Staff was very good and courteous. Ambience is brilliant. Just carefully look at the walls and you will learn something.

We enjoyed lunch this afternoon. We both ordered from the lunch menu which was affordable and offered a wide variety of options. The won ton soup noodles with bbq pork was enough for 2. Large portions of everything that we ordered. Lettuce wraps were delicious. We will definitely return.

First time here and everything was delicious! The egg roll looks like a taquito but it’s very good! I had the seafood feast and the serving is huge! You can totally share and be satisfied. The feast was wonderful! I will definitely be returning.

This is an excellent restaurant. I will say I didn’t completely love my meal tonight, but that wasn’t because it wasn’t good. (Chicken Parmesan) I just didn’t care for the ricotta cheese on it. I would have preferred a mozzarella. I also noticed most of the beef dishes have mushrooms, which I can’t eat, so I wish there was a non mushroom option. (Eating mushrooms would be cannibalism, as I am a fun guy.)

A wonderfully interesting dining experience, the restaurant features a menu that is half Chinese and half American. While a good step up from a dump, the decor is rather plain and simple to the point of sparse. I do enjoy the old photographs of Terre Haute that have been enlarged to Grace the walls. The place is set on a corner opening to a building vestibule that fronts Wabash Avenue on one side of the dining room and onto a side street on the other. It seems that they want you to come in from 6th Street, as opposed to the Wabash entrance, as that’s where the reception podium is located. The waiters are just a little more formal than you might expect. However, the menu helps the wait staff pull off the upscale feel to their service by supplying several items that are more complex (and tasty) than you might expect. In particular, the pineapple fried rice is as luxurious as the beef stroganoff is divine. The portions are very large and the prices are quite reasonable. $$ The $8 lunch menu is one of the best values in town! I have eaten there a handful of times and have yet to be disappointed. — jsh

No flavor. No flavor at all. Everything tastes like nothing. Had the ramen and pineapple fried noodles. The ramen is literally two packets of instant ramen from the Asian grocery on 3rd Street, and the pork was completely tasteless; this probably cost them a buck and a half and three minutes to whip up. I paid $25.68 for just these two dishes, not including tip. It’s so disappointing, since we were excited to finally have ramen and Thai-style fried rice in Terre Haute.
