This is my favorite fish and chips spot in San Diego now. It’s a small mom & pop shop. The texture of the fish is always great, fluffy and crispy. Would recommend the fish, oysters, and the shrimp.

The amount of food you get for the price $$$ is good. Condiment are not available, you get a portion of what you need as you place the order. Plate of food looks Delish but we Felt bad after eating so much grease because everything is fry. Not sure if the oil is too old. Don’t think I will come back .

I have had many fish and chip dishes in my lifetime, but I have to say, this is one of the best! I was missing that good ole British fry and tucked in the middle of Lemon Grove, San Diego there you will find Chef John’s fish and chips restaurant. Order up a plate of that delicious crispy fried cod and seasoned fries and wow. Crispy and tasty fish fried to perfection. So fresh without that fishy smell. I am a malted vinegar person but his fresh tartar sauce is amazingly creamy with that touch of pickle in it! He offers other plates of seafood, shrimp, calamari or if you are not a seafood person, chicken tenders fried the same way! This is one of my favorite places to go for fish and chips! Go try it!

Counter service made-to-order fried seafood. The fish fillets are huge. One is probably enough for a meal. The fish is flaky and fried to perfection, making it crispy, light and not greasy. The fries are good. There is an assortment of dipping sauces in addition to tartar sauce. They also have different kinds of fried veggies. Staff is friendly. The wait was a bit longer than expected but not bad. The ambience is very casual, fast food ish, but it’s clean and bright. If you’re looking for a kick back spot to satisfy your fish-n-chips craving, this place will do.

Not worth it. Fish is cooked well, fries (not really chips in the traditional fish and chips sense) were cooked well, but the $$ was way more than it was worth. Spent $100 on three baskets of fish and two baskets of chicken.

Quiet place, delicious fish n chips and fried clams! My husband and I heard about this place and decided to make the 25 min drive to get there on a day with no plans. We were very happy we did. We ordered a fish n chips plate and a combo plate with fish and clam strips. Everything was cooked perfectly. The fish pieces were substantial the breading in the fish was light and well seasoned. The clams were the clams I fell in love with as a kid. I am always on the search for them and these fit that bill perfectly.

Very simple restaurant, their fish and chips were amazing! I actually thought they were better than I’ve had of fresh fish right out of the ocean. Their hush puppies with the honey sauce were delicious. We will definitely be back.
