Saw this when we walked past to go to Dun Huang. Had to come back and boy are we glad we did! The service was excellent! The food exceptional! Very close to authentic Chinese food experience. Mopu Tofu and Spicy Pork soup dumplings were killer! Must order again!

Great food and attentive service. We travel frequently to Asia and I will give it to this place that it tastes pretty authentic. We ordered beef pancake, soupy buns, pan fried dumplings and roast pork belly. All were good and we were most impressed by the beef pancake and soupy buns. We highly recommend!

This place is always packed, and I always see long line waiting outside. The best time to go is 11:30am when they open, otherwise can be up to one hour wait. However, all the wait is worthy since the food is so yummy! I ordered soup dumplings, Beef In Hot Chili Oil, spicy clear noodle, Preserved Egg W. Eggplant, and Mapo tofu, all dishes are delicious! The Preserved Egg W. Eggplant is my favorite!

We, as Filipinos, love Chinese food. We went to the Shanghai Restaurant for the second time and brought my mother-in-law along with us. Just to inform you in advance, this place is always busy, which is a sign of good food. We would like to thank our server, GAO, for the excellent service – from recommending the best dishes to answering all our questions. It was truly a tasty moment for us. Will definitely come back!

It usually takes 20-30 mins to get a table but definitely worth the wait. They have everything authentic. I love the eel dish – the only place in town that cooks it correctly. My husband loves their duck egg yolk with whatever – rice cake, potato, rice. I finally tried their crawfish over rice – they gave so much crawfish that we packed most it home and steamed more rice for it next day. Their soup dumplings is as good as it is for Wu’s Shanghai dumpling house, but more options for different fillings. The eggplant with preserved eggs is also at the same level as Chef Tan. The portion is smaller than some Chinese places nearby, but the quality is always to the standards. Only downside is the decor. The surface of the benches are all torn. And sometimes, because of the high volume of customers, the table surface is not always cleaned well.

Went there before it opened since we know there’s always a line. Braised pork belly was so good. Also loved the Gourd Luffa Soup Dumpling. Enjoyed our meal and will definitely come back. Service was fast as well.

Totally excellent service! Very attentive waiter. I was hoping to find Chengdu lamb, but they had Toothpick Lamb not exactly the same flavor, but it was pretty good. And I ordered their Shanghai dumplings to compare to the other place I went to, theirs is very good too.

For context my experience with Chinese food has been mostly Americanized dishes/flavors.
