Wow just wow. Nothing to complain about. Easy in, easy ordering, easy everything. The place is clean and efficient. As soon as you are seated they are bring you a free appitizer. As you can see from the photos. They do not seem to provide small sushi parts. Overall the place is very nice and I would come back again and again.

Best sushi on the VA Peninsula! Wait staff is so sweet and accommodating. They always offer free edamame as an appetizer, free cheesecake slice for dessert, and sometimes free eggrolls too! Like seriously what other restaurant do you know that gives away so much free food? Their sushi is superb. Love their special rolls. So so good. They also are never packed and zero wait. Usually only a couple tables of people. I don’t understand why they aren’t more busy all the time.

Go here for sushi. If you’re in this area, I definitely recommend getting sushi here. The wait staff is very kind and attentive. We had an excellent meal. The fire shrimp and shumai appetizers were excellent. Definitely get the earthquake and spicy tuna roll are excellent. Going to make this place a regular.

Finally doing a review and this was our 4th visit here. Im from Hawai’i and sushi is a comfort food of mine. I miss the island food, and finding a decent sushi place has been a challenge here in VA. We have been very pleased with this establishment! It’s not exactly like Hawai’i – but it’s as close as I’ve gotten to it since leaving 2 years ago.

Stopped by with client for a meal. Service was very good and the place was clean. Started with a few appetizers and then various rolls…got so in to eating that forgot to take pictures of the rolls till after stuffing ourselves! maybe next visit will remember to grab some shots.

We haven’t taken the time to dine-in since COVID. Since then, they’ve renovated and redecorated the restaurant. We usually picked up take out, and I’m so glad we decided to sit down and enjoy a meal. We came in around 3:50 pm so there was no wait, and were seated in a boot towards the back of the restaurant, so it was cozy. I had Pinot Noir red wine and my husband ordered Bud Light beer. They don’t have a separate menu for spirits like Bourbons or Whiskey, but they do offer beer, wines, and sake. We split the Shrimp Tempura appetizer (which I forgot to take a photo of) after we finished the free edamame with soy sauce. For dinner we split the Super Duper Roll and it came with veggie spring rolls on the house. I love that they always offer plenty of ginger and fresh wasabi. We also split the cheesecake with chocolate sauce on the house for dessert and it was delicious. By 4:30 pm the restaurant got busier as more people came in to dine in, but they didn’t have to wait to be seated. Our waitress was nice and the kitchen staff were friendly, thanking us for coming in as we left. I’m glad we chose to dine in over take out, and I’d encourage you to come and sit down for a fresh meal and great service.

I tried YamaChen’s Sushi in Yorktown for the first time today during lunch. Was amazing! I got the avocado salad, earthquake roll, and I added an eel roll. Everything was fresh & delicious. So much better quality than the all you can eat places around town. And the environment was incredible as well

The dining experience was incredible and Susan, the waitress, was an angel my daughter said. We had 2 rolls, miso soup and a Kani salad. We were gifted three spring rolls and three cheesecake bites. I wish we lived in the area to be able to come often.
