This was our second time here and after reading reviews we were kinda worked the quality had gone downhill. I definitely has not, the staff was great and very attentive to our larger party. We arrived right when they opened.

Interesting history. The calamari was excellent so was the cheese sticks but the gator is awful. We had chicken fried steak which was good, mashed potatoes are really good, green beans were exceptional but the salad is a complete waste. My friend had the cajun fish and grilled shrimp which she couldn’t finish.. oh the regular chicken fried steak is more than big enough unless you eat like a lumberjack. The staff was really sweet, helpful, playful and attentive. I recommend checking it out but call ahead at 50% capacity it fills up quickly.

We drove an hour for lunch here, despite all the negative reviews, but probably will not be back any time soon. Catfish, bread and okra were good, as well as the atmosphere. However, everything else was below average. Service was slow and we had our cups empty for a while. Place should have been much cleaner than it was. Crabcake, shrimp and coleslaw were pointless to order.

A Jem in the middle of Waxahachie, TX! An old Victorian House repurposed to be a restaurant, you can almost miss it as it is so inconspicuously located in the middle of suburbia with no big signs. The ambiance is cozy. The staff are amazing. The food omg is to die for! You have to try the catfish platters and the gator bites. Great place for a date or a family/ friends gathering

I really, really wanted to love this place. I went on Halloween. The service was very slow. She wasn’t at all empathetic when I got sick from the food. The appetizers I got made me so sick I couldn’t touch my entree, and I didn’t take any of it to go I felt so awful. She just gave us the bill and hurried us out. Maybe I had an unusual experience, but I will not be going back. The appetizers below are the fried pickles with spicy cajun dip and fried green tomatoes with buffalo ranch dip.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Catfish Plantation! The old house location is super quaint, and the ghost stories associated with the location add a fun and spooky air as well. The food and service were both great! The Cajun-style catfish was absolutely delicious, as was the bread pudding! We will definitely be back, and would recommend to anyway visiting Hachie.

Food was very good. Atmosphere is amazing! Beautiful restaurant. I didn’t have any paranormal experiences, however I can say that I had a really weird feeling in the ladies restroom. Kinda unsettling. As of I was being watched. Neat place overall. Definitely worth the drive to Waxahachie.

We have been to the Catfish Plantation throughout the years. We enjoy the historic atmosphere and the delicious food. We just want to mention that Jennifer, our server, made our visit this last time exceptional. She was extremely friendly and helped us with our orders. She also shared some ghost stories that made it even more exciting. Our food was delicious as expected. We will be back.
