I camp down by this place. I dropped by to try the BBQ. It was so good. We got ribs, brisket, bologna, baked beans, pickles, and white bread. It was all so good. White bread is white bread, but I did like the pickles they had. Their BBQ sauce was good as well. I have been coming to Akins Store for years. They used to have a sign that welcomed the family to the area every year of the reunion, so I am familiar with the store and it’s offerings.

First time going there as I’d heard the food was to die for. Pulled pork was good, good serving size too 7/10. Brisket was fairly dry 4/10. Coleslaw wasn’t good, heavy vinegar taste, not sweet 1/10. Bologna plate to go was a waste of $6.50. 1 piece of Bologna, 1/4″ thick. It was good, but that was the smallest serving I’d ever seen..

It’s been a really long time since I’ve had good BBQ. This place was amazing. I loved the coleslaw, I usually don’t like coleslaw that much. This place reminded me of home when I was kid. Will recommend.

The brisket dinners with beans and coleslaw are fantastic! My favorite item on the menu is the loaded baked potatoes that are available on Fridays (I get brisket in mine). It’s a great meal for a great price!
