If I was making a short list of the top 3 country food places in Macon, Jeneane’s would make the list. Not as number 1 and not 2, but in the top 3 for sure. My last few visits haven’t been the best experience. This particular time the floor and tables were pretty trashed and our server seemed like he didn’t really want to be there. Our glasses where placed heavily on the table and the straws where just thrown down. I thought, hmmm maybe he just dropped them. But then the wet bread plates where thrown on the table along with our bread. But no, really, loud clatter thrown on the table. And who doesn’t enjoy a nice wet plate to set your biscuit on? But other than that, the food was ok.

Friendly and attentive staff. The food was hot and came out quickly, even with a packed lunch crowd. I had collards, dressing, and mac & cheese. The collards were great, needed a little salt. The dressing was my favorite of the meal. It was not dry, and the gravy enhances the flavor. The only slight disappointment was the mac and cheese, it tasted good… however, it was watery

The owner exhibits a pattern of disrespect towards her employees. The back of the restaurant is filthy and their food prep standards are low. An absolute dumpster fire of a restaurant. She plays favorites and has no problem disrespecting you even if you are grieving the loss of a loved one. Additionally she shows absolutely no compassion for anyone with a mental illness and plays favorites with some of her absolute worst workers
