Joyfully His

The two servers are what made this review a three and not a one. Both hustled, maintained composure, and were so sweet. The food…well, it was basic and lacked depth that is associated with Asian cuisine. It wasn’t horrible. The place was hopping with takeout orders, so that’s always a good sign. We were the only ones dining at first, which made me hesitant during the dinner hour. The place needs a deep clean. The attempt at tasteful decor and ambiance is there, but is overshadowed by the dustballs and grime in the nooks and crannies of the dining area. Especially when you first walk in—first impressions! However, with all that being said the food just isn’t good enough to keep us coming back. It IS popular (lack of other options in area also), but so is Dunkin’ Donuts (and their coffee and donuts are AWFUL) because people in the southeast haven’t experienced TIM HORTON’S—it would put DD out of business, but if basic’s all ya got, then you don’t know how much better it can be. If this place kicked up their flavors and standard base sauce I would be willing to give it another try!

My wife says this was the best chinese she has had in the Charlotte area. We did take out and the portions were very generous. The General Chicken I had could have been spicier. My wife loved the sesame chicken and the pork fried rice was excellent. We will definitely order from here again.

I have a shellfish allergy and ordered 2 veggie spring rolls with my meal. On my last bite of the 2nd roll, I looked and saw a whole chunk of shrimp! Hoping to not spend the night in the ER due to poor food handling practices. Places like these don’t care either. Will never be returning.

Food is good a little pricey beware the SPRING ROLLS contain shrimp. Never had fried spring rolls with shrimp in them and my partner has a shellfish allergy could have went terribly wrong as there is no warning or description on website

I ordered something I thought could not be screwed up, but alas. It was horrible. I ordered some sesame chicken and it was inedible I had to throw it out. The meat, which I assume was the lowest quality chicken on the planet, or worse, was just tough, and completely tasteless. I threw out the whole dish. It was absolutely disgusting. Please go to somewhere like New York and learn how to make food that people can actually eat. I will not be back.

This place is amazing. I’ve lived in the area for about 3 months now, transplant from New York. I was worried about the basics, you know, finding the right Pizzeria and Chinese food place. Still haven’t had luck with pizza but this is definitely the place for Chinese.

Best Chinese food in Waxhaw! Their portions are generous, especially for takeout, and the food is great. Staff is always super nice and, unlike most places, they actually honor special instructions requests when ordering online. Happy to have Asian Grill in my weekly rotation!
