I wish I could give Monty’s 10 stars. I just tried this bbq place here in Cove…got it delivered and wowza..THIS is it right here. I’ve tried just about every bbq place in this area and THIS stomps them all out all this time I’ve lived here, I never imagined we had such a hidden gem kicking myself I never tried it sooner! This is prepared by someone who truly cares about the quality AND presentation of their food. I will be coming in to eat soon and congratulate this team for bringing the best that Cove (and might I add Texas period) has to offer. I have had such horrible service with fast food here, but I know I will not be wasting a single cent by coming here. I HIGHLY recommend the brisket wrap. Had a bite of my son’s burger and it is so soft yet toasty and perfectly grilled. The beans slap and the brisket wrap took me to church I mean..closed eyes the whole time religious experience a little fried like a chimichanga and has the most amazing blend of herbs, sauce, and macaroni?! no surprise, the funnel cake fries were PERFECTION as well I was wanting to treat myself for getting through a long week and boy did they deliver (quickly at that). THANK YOU MONTY! You da best!!

1st time here, I’ve heard mixed reviews… Unfortunately my experience was awful ! Now the wait time was not long and the workers are very friendly. My fried pickles and green tomatoes were awful to say the least! ( Wet , soggy, mushy) My food had no taste! My co-workers’ food was horrible as well. My stomach was in turmoil and was my best friend. I don’t think I will return! FYI $50price tag they are expensive

Went for lunch with my bible study group from Georgetown Texas. It was a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Monty and staff were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going again. Long trip but worth it, the food was amazing.

Reading reviews for this place I was anticipating good food, but was it ever disappointing . Wife ordered ribs, charcoal burnt and dry. Glad I only ordered the 10 ounce ribeye, thin and with bone and gristle more like 6 ounces. And since when are green beans supposed to have the stalk on it. I do give 5 stars for the pinto beans. Oh yeah, no beer is a real downer.

Monty’s is damn good. All the meats are delicious, the chicken fried bacon was something new and absolutely wonderful. Smoked Mac & cheese, everyone loved. With inflation and shoMonty has done a good job keeping the prices reasonable. Made a great spot for a 26th wedding anniversary. Whoever came up with funnel cake fries made my wife’s evening. Great food, good atmosphere, decent prices. Had a huge party come in yet the weight staff never lost track of the smaller tables.

The food we tried was delicious. We started with an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes which were prepared perfectly and came with a cup of tasty aioli sauce. I had the Baked Potato with Brisket which was excellent. My dining partner had the Brisket Sandwich, which he enjoyed. He requested pickles on it and BBQ sauce on the side, but neither were provided. Our simple drink order arrived well after our appetizer; likewise, my silverware wasn’t brought out until well after my brisket potato had already been delivered to the table. The server did explain to us that they were working a special event at the rear of the restaurant, so service would be slower than normal. I would recommend that if hosting events in addition to normal dining room service, the management add additional servers. That said, the food is terrific and we do plan on returning to sample other menu items.

Food flavors are dynamic. Prices were very reasonable for the portions and quality. Ambiance is “odd”. It wants to be a steak and barbecue restaurant, but music is a soft pop station, there’s sports memorabilia scattered throughout….just missing what it could be.

We had a waitress that didn’t know the food, so when we asked for her input she told us she didn’t know, this was her third day. But the fried pickles are the best thing on the menu apparently even though she followed up with a “never tried them”.

The chicken fried bacon drizzled with honey and served with a dipping sauce was AMAZING! The ribeye was cooked perfectly and delicious with he ‘Angel Tears’ (seasoned butter) for dipping. The chicken fried steak, potato salad and steakhouse ma n cheese were all wonderful as well! Definitely a must try!
