We absolutely loved the Wake Cafe. It’s a cute little restaurant that also has a store selling all kinds of unique art, furniture and other cool items. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you. My husband and son both got the chicken and waffles and loved it. I got the BLT and was shocked at how great it was. It was on a ciabatta roll and was delicious. The decor is great and you can buy some of the gorgeous tables that they have that are made by a local artist. The tables are stunning! I loved the one with the live edge and river rocks in epoxy (see photo). Anyway, great place to catch a bite to eat at Smith Mountain Lake!

7.99 for a burger by itself, went through drive through with no wait, on lunch break, and still had to pull forward to wait for just one burger. Older blonde lady was short and rude when I sounded surprised at the price. Wait is over 5 minutes, still waiting. They were this slow as Dairy Queen and are maybe slower now and overpriced. Waste of a lunch break, and won’t be back. Still waiting, going on 7 minutes now, and I have no air conditioning. This overpriced burger better be huge. 8 minutes now. Unbelievable. They just need to shut down if they can’t do one burger under ten minutes.

If you haven’t been to Wake Cafe lately, give it a try. We recently went and tried one of their burgers, and it was delicious. Be sure you stop in their store. They have some unique items to see. Love your new sign and love supporting local business that provides good service and get products/food.

My family came across this gem of a cafe when returning from Smith Mountain Lake. We ordered sandwiches, burgers, fries, and onion rings. The service was great and the food was piping hot and soooooo good! Art from local artists and wood turners is found throughout. Our family left very satisfied and plan to come again.

I love their burgers and ripcurls (blended ice creams) I think these items are much better than Dairy Queen. You can also get cheese curds with your meal. You will have to wait a few minutes but it will be worth it.

This place is awful, the owner is rude and ungrateful to their workers/staff, they’re an alcoholic who leaves work for an extended period of time and doesn’t come back till the cafe is about to close. And not only is she rude and hateful to the staff, she tries to hide it and be nice to the coworkers, the manager is doing illegal things while at work, no wonder she can’t keep employees. I dont recommend going here at all!! The food is good don’t get me wrong, but half the people in there don’t wash their hands after dealing with raw meats, etc… if I were you I’d think about a different place to eat and work before going there!

I stopped in to get a To go order for brunch. I ordered an omelette and bacon and waited for at least 35-40 to get my order. One person working in the kitchen that looked frustrated every time she walked up front. Food is good , but unfortunately the service needs a lot of work. You can not have customers waiting 30-40 mins for food. If they do not get some help I do not see people coming back because of the wait. Also pretty expensive for what you get $13 for an omelette with mushrooms and bacon. I am giving it 3 stars based on food service needs work not because of food quality.
