The chicken wars continue!! We tried Gebhardt’s this week and we’re really impressed! We went on Monday to try the chicken noodles and were amazed at the portions and how great the food and service were. So we decided to try the chicken. On Friday and again we were really impressed. The better for the chicken is more of a corn fried batter than a traditional, but it has way less grease than the other places. The German slaw was a really nice dressing of acidity and sweet, and the mash potatoes and gravy were better than the competition in the area. One important point, only cash or check! Don’t show up without that!! Great job, we will be back!

Onion rings were the star, followed closely by the homemade noodles (Mondays only!) although they are not for the faint of salt. The fried chicken was ok-good, but took about 35 minutes.

Absolutely the most tender, juicy, delicious chicken! The onion rings and fried mushrooms were phenomenal also. The owner is lovely and staff just as sweet. A down home meal in a down home environment. Very warm and inviting. They donate meals to local EMS on holidays also and I love them for that!

If your looking for amazing food, this is the place. Best fried chicken you can get. We go here once a week. The chicken fried chicken is my favorite but you can’t go wrong with any of the food here. It’s out in the country, with a disconnect from all the hussle and bussle of city dining. You do have to pay in cash, so be prepared with some paper bills lol.

First time trying Gebharts and had a fantastic experience from the interaction we had with a couple and their kids to our waitress! The chicken was top notch and mashed potato and gravy perfect. Tried the wishbone for the first time and was not disappointed! I’ve eaten at the other chicken places and they are good, this place is just different and well worth the drive! And don’t forget the onion rings!
