Beautiful dinning room with spectacular views of the sound. Our waiter was wonderful. The food is delicious and the portions are enormous! I wasn’t that hungry and ordered the cheese plate for my dinner. It could easily feed 4 people. The tuna special was a large as a tomahawk steak and was cooked to perfection.

First time here as IL Gabbiano, but I love this location since it was Rusty Scupper about 20 years ago. This place is beautiful, with great views of the Long Island sound. And the food to die for, chicken parm well prepared not dry well seasoned delicious. The cocktail is on the small size compared to the plates, and I’m not kidding. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you go. Prepare yourself to carry out half of your dinner, no complaints here it was as good as the night before. 100% recommended

Happy 20th Anniversary to us! The food and service was outstanding. If there was anything to bark about it would be the bread. Bread in the basket brought to the table was doughy and not toasted – not even warmed (we prefer crusty). The bread served with our appetizers was toasted and was tough to bite as if it sat for a little while before being served. Overall great portion of the swordfish special (as you can see). He had leftovers for days. .

OUTSTANDING !! Our first time here to celebrate our aunts 85th birthday , upon arrival we were greeted by the owner Valentino with the warmest welcome . Carlos our waiter was beyond perfect . The food the setting the service impeccable . We travel a lot amd dine in very fine restaurants , we were so impressed with everything the portions were enormous , the quality of the food to perfection , the service beyond amazing , the setting was perfect . We are lucky to have such an amazing restaurant right here in New Haven not to mention this is we’re my husband and I met 38 years ago ( rusty scupper ) I cannot find a restaurant In All my travels that even compares to I’ll gabbiano it is one of a kind . This place is so big that I don’t think you could ever have enough staff! But I did wait over an hour for Short Ribs. We enjoyed the appetizer. We will give them another shot. Nice Happy Hour with a giant bar.

Very very yummy with great service. Waitress and (i assume owner) super kind. He came by to check on us make sure everything was going well! Food portions are amazing for the price will definitely come back and try more items in menu. Location has a lot of parking too. Sadly I can during the cold weather but I can’t wait to try it when it’s warm out to enjoy the water side dining aspect of this location.
