I think I have discovered one of Michigan’s Best Restaurants. There’s so much love put in this place. The owner, Sherie, loves what she does and it shows. The food is amazing! They make everything in house! From bread to croutons, to dressings to hand cut lettuce! The pasta was excellent, the fish was perfect. The servers were wonderful. I can’t wait to be back! Mackinaw city could use a great restaurant like this. Impressive.

When we pulled in, and even more when we walked in, we were super unimpressed. Thankfully that turned around almost immediately with the friendly staff and almost entirely HOMEMADE menu! Hubby got French onion soup and we split spinach artichoke dip and both were quite tasty and served with homemade bread. Our entrees were no different, in that they were clearly homemade and cooked fresh. We were disappointed that we were too full for dessert because the super friendly manager told us that’s all homemade too!

We used Great Lakes Grill to cater my dad’s wake. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was great. The fresh bread was amazing. My brother can’t stop talking about it, lol. Sherri was so easy to work with and was patient with my family as we are terrible planners, lol. I highly recommend Great Lakes Grill.

Visiting Cheboygan for a month+ and trying different restaurants in the area. REALLY GLAD we tried GLG tonight (08/30/2023)! Very unassuming from the exterior and upon entry… but the service was outstanding and the food was quite good. Definitely a restaurant of substance vs bling/flash… which is ALWAYS our preference.

I had my wedding shower here. Staff was so polite and efficient. Best service and made my day extra special. They even allowed us to take leftovers home. What a wonderful experience.

When this establishment first opened, it was excellent. After 20 some years of service, it has gone down… The food was sub par, aside from the French fries and ranch… Some of the staff could use more training, wait staff and kitchen staff. A good quick bite, but not much more than a glorified greasy spoon so to speak.

Delicious whitefish sandwich, all fresh food. Service was impeccable, they accommodated our group of 8 with ease and though they were busy on a Friday night, the food came out pretty fast. You cannot beat this local gem.
