This was a chance visit, being famished while I was in the area. The eatery itself has a good ambience, with very good AC providing respite from the heat.

The service is amazing here. I think all of the times I’ve dined here, my server has been Christopher. He’s very kind, very attentive and on top of his server game for sure. The sushi is amazing. We usually share a boat, it’s so fresh. last visit I that the chirashi bowl. They give you SO much fish. We also tried hibachi this last visit. A+. One of my absolute favorite restaurants! Oh, BYOB, so be aware if you like to drink. If you visit, definitely try the hot tea, too.

Surprising really good!! It looks like *just another shopping center Chinese/Japanese restaurant* but that’s not the case. The prices are decent and the sushi/hibachi is fantastic! Definitely worth the stop!

This place is a hidden gem. The owners went out of their way to make my twins feel special on their birthday. We were greeted with birthday balloons for them and a special desert with birthday candles. The staff is exceptional but so is the food. Our party of 9 all said over and over how great the food was. We ordered an assortment of sushi and several hibachi dishes. Each one fantastic. The restaurant should be way more crowded than it is. The food is better than most places downtown. Will be back soon.

Kawa is simply phenomenal. I’ve visited twice so far for lunch on the weekend and I was blown away each visit by so many aspects of the experience. First and most importantly, the food is absolutely incredible (nothing compares in this area.) Each ingredient is unbelievably fresh, pronounced and defined in it’s taste – and cooked to absolute perfection. During each visit we’ve ordered 3 sushi rolls (pictured: shrimp tempura roll, vegetable tempura roll, and a salmon avacado roll) – accompanied by the hibachi lunch (pictured is a shrimp hicbachi lunch and a chicken hibachi lunch) – which come with a delightful soup or salad and the best hibachi rice I’ve ever had. In addition to the breathtaking food, the atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff is so friendly – not to mention it is spotless inside. The eatery is thoughtful and elegant, and the tables are so clean (not the sticky surface that you find at many dine in experiences.) I personally don’t prefer dining in a traditional hibachi setting in front of a chef so this is an added bonus of Kawa for me. In summary, visit Kawa (in person) – or you’re truly missing out.

This restaurant is a fantastic dining experience, please try to experience it in person, not takeout. FYI—there are no hibachi tables, only dining tables and a sushi bar, just as a disclaimer. I personally prefer this atmosphere. Attention to detail everywhere is evident. Their food is a step-above. From their gorgeous plates, platters, bowls, etc., to sturdy chopsticks (I know it sounds crazy, but their individually wrapped chopsticks are so nice) to fresh food. Steven is doing a great job at creating a welcoming atmosphere. I love the decor, the people, and the food. My photos are from two visits. As I said, everything is fresh and I’ve loved every dish so far. Their sauces are housemade. The vegetable dumplings are delicious, the fish is fresh for the sushi, they have bubble tea—which I love, the vegetable fried rice was so flavorful and beautifully garnished, the miso soup had a lot of tofu, and we even got to try their spicy tuna pizza, which isn’t on the menu but it was fun testing something new! I’ll keep going back. It’s BYOB, no corking fee. I hope this encourages other people to visit this restaurant, they truly deserve it.

Ordered takeout lunch from here online. Ordering was easy and order was ready when I arrived. Atmosphere inside a big dark and cramped – place is small and windowless with sushi counter in the back corner. Got the three rolls special which was an ok price for the quality but nothing that really stood out. Decent crowd there on a weekday but not crowded.

We had an absolutely amazing meal here! The teriyaki chicken was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. It was not busy for a Sunday afternoon. The waitress was very nice and the food came out very quickly. I would highly recommend a visit!

Went to this place on a whim and it was hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The waiter we had was attentive, respectful, prompt, etc.
