I have had tortas from all over the Chicago land area, this was by far the best steak torta I have yet to have. My food was ready as soon as I was done paying ! Now that’s fast and reliable service. I will be back !

Endless Possibilities
This is one of my few go-to places in the area for a good taco dinner. They’re very consistent with their flavoring, portions, timing, prices, etc… the only bad thing is that half of the staff there aren’t very helpful or friendly, and they HATE giving out extra (of their mediocre) salsa. But I can look past that stingy behavior for the most part.

We had a pretty good experience here, except for their steak, which had chewy and fatty parts. Some reviews mention the extra $0.59 charge for credit card purchases was not shown anywhere. There are notices multiple places indicating the charge, so I don’t know what they are talking about. The cash back you get from your credit card should cover that charge easily. The horchata was delicious. We will be back.

Every time I’ve been here, they have absolutely nailed it. Even with tricky orders where similar items are ordered with different special instructions, they consistently get it right. If you know this area, then you know that there is no shortage of places to get a taco or burrito. Locals here are kind of spoiled for choice, to be honest. El Famous Burrito sets itself apart with their ability to get the order right every time, the food always tasting fresh, and the service always being fast & friendly. If you’re in the mood for Mexican and don’t want to wonder if you’ll be satisfied, this is the place for you. *photos will be added on the next visit*

Hats off to the Cook, and the staff! I was very impressed with my large extra meat burrito. It had tons of meat that was tender and juicy and flavorful did not have fat or gristle in it which concerned me because I had read a review that somebody had had some in there. This burrito was so large and full of meat that I could only eat half of it. It was huge, customer service was very nice and the young man behind the counter, who rang me up, was very expeditious and kind. Thank you so much El Famous I will be back with friends!

I went up to the counter to get my drink and I see one of the cooks put his bare hands in someone’s platter, to organize the rice so the rest of the food will fit in the plate. How disgusting touching food no gloves. I will never go there again!!!

I visited El Famous Burrito for the first time and the chicken burrito I had was okay. I had some pretty killer burritos in my life & these one just couldn’t compare. It was dry on the upper half & wet on the bottom half. Once I got half way through it pretty much feel apart. I really enjoyed my sorrel juice. I don’t know what they call it there. I could barely understand the lady talking my order but she was SUPER nice. I would go back just off the strength of her.

Normally the food is really good. However, there was a leaf from outside in my rice and the food made me sick. Not to mention the place smelled like roach spray when I went in to order. I tried to look over that ( I know dumb) but I did and that’s when I found the leaf. They went up on prices recently as well. In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m not going back. Beware and look at your food carefully if you go.
