The server on Sunday was very kind, patient and answered my questions. I think the prices aren’t bad at all. Since I came in on the weekend I was unable to get the happy hour price. I believe she said Tuesday-Thursday or Friday 2-6pm. I ordered the Miso Soup, and got the 3 for $17 sushi deal. The miso was great, which is a good sign for the resturuant over all. The asparagus roll sometimes comes with a sauce or it comes as tempura; this was pretty plain, and small for a sushi roll. I requested the spicy salmon roll be a hand roll instead. They happily obliged. This roll has been made differently at almost every sushi resturuant I go to. In this case it was larger slices of salmon (instead of minced), drizzled with spicy mayo which is what I prefer for sauce. Sometimes, spicy salmon or tuna will have a marinade instead of sauce drizzled, which is fine. It was good food, but probably an 8/10 for sushi. The place was clean and the big surprise was the portion size, price and quality of the tempura green tea ice cream. They dressed it up with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry. It was very delicious, $10 and there was so much. Easily shareable for 3-5 people. Over all this place is 5 stars in my opinion.

I don’t really leave a comment usually for a restaurant, but the owner and the server were very kind and fun!! The food was great too..my favorite were the Vegas roll, chicken wings and teriyaki chicken! They made some great changes with the interior. It looks nice and feels cozy! Yanagi sushi used to be the go to spot for my spouse and myself, a great little sushi spot tuck just of the main drag. Amazing fresh options, and interesting specials to try. It was a little expensive, but it was worth it for the quality and flavor. We were worried during lockdown that this would change but we were pleasntly surprised that it was still great.

Ate here with a great friend and never received my Miso soup, even though I reminded the girl TWO TIMES. And the service was ABSOLUTELY lethargic. I watched carefully and it seemed like the staff wasn’t aware of how to manage their tables or restaurant. Won’t be coming back.

The best sushi restaurant in AZ! They use fresh not frozen sushi, which is something rarely seen in most sushi restaurants in AZ and you can definitely taste the difference. If you are a fan of traditional, high quality sushi, you’ll know what I mean. The service was also incredible, warm and inviting. I can’t wait to go back!

We received some wonderful service and a kind welcome. Beautiful family run restaurant with a modern twist on a traditional atmosphere. Not only was this the best sushi I have ever had, it was also the best vegan food I’ve ever had!! With every bite, I was so amazed by what was brought to my palate. You can tell that they really put the thought into the concepts they brought to the table. It was practically art. We found our new go-to spot!

My partner and I ordered from Yanagi last night on a whim, since we were both hungry and craving sushi. Usually we have to do some digging in order to find a vegan menu, but Yanagi offered an amazing array of options. So with us feeling extra “hungry” that night we ended up ordering almost the entirety of the vegan menu.

The selections for me (a non-shushi peep) are fantastic! My favorite is the Veggie Delight roll with soy paper – the veggies with the ginger sauce OMGNOMNOM. My husband loves sushi and to find a place we can both enjoy is wonderful. Service has always been excellent and we’ve never felt rushed to leave no matter how busy.
