On April 15, 2023, My mom and I took an impromptu visit to Benson. It’s rare that I travel to this city. We wanted to try a local restaurant, so I searched for food near me. “Grill on the Hill” populated as one of the choices, so we headed that way. Upon arriving on the premises I was surprised to see that it was a restaurant connected to the Marathon gas station. We parked right up front and decided to go in. It appears to be a busy location, many people were in and out, with the dine-in and carry-out options. I immediately noticed some writing on the blue wall, which highlighted cheesesteak. I was curious but I decided to go with a double bacon cheeseburger with fries instead. My mom decided on the chicken tenders & fries, and the cashier suggested the macaroni and cheese bites. The staff was very friendly and attentative. I was assisted by Morgan, she was amazing. I had a small issue, and she handle it with no problem. The other ladies were amazing as well, unfortunately I did not get their names. The restaurant was clean, as were the bathrooms. I had one hiccup with the bathroom door, (the bathroom closest to the cashiers). I locked it but unfortunately the lock was not working, hopefully they will attend to that issue. The food was good, I will certainly return to try the cheesesteak. If your passing through, give it a try, you just might like it.

Food is fantastic. I had the chicken salad plate and thought it was the best I’ve ever eaten. It would be more helpful if they came for you to take your order. The service is quick and they do bring your to your table. Atmosphere? Well what do expect from a gas station. We were surrounded by bags of animal feed.

Grill on the hill is a great place for breakfast biscuits and Burgers and fried okra as a side. Everything I have tried there has been excellent! They have great sweet tea to wash it down too! Fast service and delicious food too!

Love this place, nothing like Country hospitality and food. Staff goes over and above. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the person behind me ordered a cheeseburger with chili and coleslaw. The staff heard me tell that customer, “THAT sounds better. I’ll have to get that next time.” And when they delivered my food, the woman asked if I would like a side of coleslaw and chili to put on it and brought me some at no extra charge!!! It’s the small kindnesses that make such a big difference and ensure customer loyalty!!!

Was in the area and decided to check out this local spot based on reviews. Service was good, however, food I ordered was lacking in terms of substance for price I paid. E.g., if you’re going to make a grilled cheese sandwich, you should at least have more than one piece of sliced cheese on it and you should be able to see it on the sides of the bread. Others in our party had the hot dogs and burgers, which looked pretty decent.
