We went in and it was really hot. Like no AC going, hot. There were no patrons in there, but quite a few tables were dirty. There were 3 employees sitting in a booth and just staring at us as we walked to the counter. We ordered our food and waited to take it to go.

Chapps is a staple on this side of Arlington. I grew up coming here for dinner often. I love that they use Nolan Ryan beef, a delicious tribute to the Texas Rangers legend. The dining room is also decorated in tribute to Texas. The burgers are good, though the fries tend to be burnt. The philly cheesesteak was tasty, though a hit lacking in meat. I took a star off for service, which seems to have gone downhill over the years. The place wasn’t busy when I arrived, but it still took a few minutes to be acknowledged and order at the front counter. My food took a while to come out, longer than expected for so few customers. Good restaurant, staff needs more training in customer service.

I don’t go to chapps often but from past visits they’ve been good, there’s young black woman that works the register, her service is amazing she has always been very kind and helpful. Now my very recent visit was off putting, there was another girl there, she wasn’t as good as the other young lady. I was disappointed with her service and my food wasn’t all that great this time either. Now I don’t normally call out stuff like this but I just found it to be unacceptable especially for reoccurring customers or newer customers. (P.S. there’s recently been an infestation with cockroaches in the restrooms and found some out in the dining area , just a heads up!!).

My best friend flew in from Alabama and asked to come Chapps burgers…well we walked in on the 3rd of August around 4:30 in the afternoon and with no other customers in the restaurant we were not greeted…the two ladies behind the registers just stared at us…literally…they never once opened their mouths…needless to say we left. Managers need to do a better job of venting future employees and send in secret shoppers to see how your restaurants are doing because I can assure you some employees are causing you to lose business…

Over rated, everytime I am here I make the mistake of thinking they learn how to cook an egg. Burgers are decient, but egg is over cooked to hell. May be due to asking to make sure yolk is not overcooked.

I haven’t eaten at a Chapps in probably 20 years! I was saddened when the one on Hulen closed, and then the one in Burleson closed! But I was in the area, and decided to stop on a whim. And boy am I glad I did! It’s exactly the same delicious burger I remember! I’ll be making a special trip back soon!
