The food is wonderfully prepared, presentation was perfect and the flavor of each dish was outstanding! Their cocktails are unique and well crafted. The ambiance is intimate, you can actually hear your conversations over dinner. The staff members were also incredibly friendly and attentive. This place is definitely a well rounded 5 stars!

Everything was delicious however, I felt like I spent more than I got. I ordered the chefs tasting menu. I would have loved to have more than 1.5-2oz worth of meat, I was left a little disappointed. I was craving more meaty entree. If you are not a big meat eater this is a great choice. The staff are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere gives me a turtles vibe. I will be back I’ll just order differently.

I was born and raised in Eugene, and am now living on the East Coast. I came to visit with family and honestly had one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in Eugene. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff, very helpful service with specific attention to preferences and recommendations, and above all phenomenal food and drinks. Atmosphere is great — not too crowded, not too loud. Great decor, and just a wonderful meal experience. Check this place out!!

Granted this was on Valentine’s Day, and a pre-arranged 5 course dinner, but our experience, service and food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was carefully planned to offer contrasting yet complementary flavor profiles using the freshest ingredients. Service was extremely prompt, friendly and upbeat. As other vetted reviewers have indicated, this place is truly a very special find and will be worth your time.

The food was amazing! Highly recommend the chefs tasting menu! We opted for the wine pairings as well and were so happy we did. It is a 5 course meal with good portions. My husband and I were starving by the time we got to the restaurant after a long day of driving and with the 5 course tasting menu and an extra dessert we were so stuffed. Also to note their French 75 was probably the best I’ve ever had! Would come back in a heartbeat if I’m ever in Eugene again!

We were visiting a Bed and Breakfast in Eugene for my partner’s 30th birthday and the hosts recommended Bar Purlieu for dinner. We had eaten at Maximilien in Seattle a couple weeks prior and were obsessed with the food so we thought we’d try Bar Purlieu since the menu is similar. We were deeply disappointed with the food and service.

Amazing! What a little gem on Willamette in Eugene. A cozy French Bistro with indoor and outdoor seating. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Wonderful food, cocktails and wine. We had it all and loved every bit. Highly recommend it!
