We stopped here for a quick lunch on the way to Seattle from the Glacier Mountains and this was the best pepuse we ever had. Jay and Elva were super welcoming and kind. Jay recommended us Plantins and ice cream for desert and it was amazing. We also ended up playing a quick game of frisbee with Jay before getting back on the road.

This was my FAVORITE stop on our vacation! Jay and Elva were so friendly and welcoming. Charming downtown location. The pupusas and tamales were amazing! The cabbage and salsa toppings were also delicious. Cold mugs of beer and Jay gave us free ice cream. The old pictures on the wall were fun to look at. I had to get a souvenir mug with Elva’s picture on it. Thanks for being such wonderful, sweet people.

Returned Home to Bonners Ferry for a short visit and was lucky enough to find a Salvadoran Restaurant. Food was amazing! We ordered the Pupuse, Pork Tamales, and the Guacamole and chips. Best Tamales I have ever had. Guacamole was off the charts good and I am not a fan of Guacamole. Pupuse was great with a cabbage slaw and salsa added a depth of flavor. Told myself not to overeat because the only thing I wanted to remember was the great food. Don’t pass this place up.

What a great restaurant! To find Salvadoran Pupusas in the Northwest is a true treat. We live an hour away, but it was worth the drive for pupusas and tamales. The owners really made the visit special as well. Can’t wait to come back!

We stopped here at the beginning of our trip through Idaho and Montana and it was one of the highlights! The food is amazing and the owners were nice and gave us advice for places to stop and sightsee along our route. Great pupusas

Met Jay as we rode in to town, he very graciously recommended lodging and offered food. We assured him we would return once we settled. By the time we got back it was almost closing time and still he and his wife were happy to see us. I was able to practice my Spanish, enjoy food I hadn’t had since childhood, and finish the night with a cigar and frisbee. Unforgettable

Love this place! The husband and wife team are lovely and provide a warm atmosphere to dine in. The food, though. Oh the food! So full of flavor and you can absolutely tell that they put their heart and soul into each and every dish. It’s not often you can pick up on this when eating somewhere, but this is one of those instances. The tamales and pupusas are HUGE compared to all of the others I’ve had in my life and are packed with flavor. We had the pork pupusa and pork tamale and both left us wanting more! Don’t be afraid of the red sauce and cabbage that are served on the side of the pupusa–they are meant to go on top and are not spicy at all. The wife even brought us a little sample of her house made guacamole; fresh and full of cilantro flavor! Yum! All in all a very lovely experience. We will be making this a dedicated stop anytime we are in town.
