Yesterday, my kids wanted Jack in the Box, I convinced them to try Island Coconut because it was a Filipino spot. We ordered a spread of food, more than we can eat. The food was fresh, delicious, and priced right. We had more than enough to bring back to my wife back in Merced and she also

This restaurant is located in a medium sized plaza with ample parking. I don’t usually eat Filipino food but I couldn’t resist ordering something because there was a line of people waiting to order – so I knew this place must be good! The line moved at a pretty good speed. I tried the noodles (price measured by weight and price is very fair and affordable) and they were delicious! I also brought home Mochi that was also good. Will be back to try more dishes in the future!

Apparently this restaurant has not heard of inflation because you can still get a 2 item combo meal here for less than $10. Big, flavorful portions, at very reasonable prices. This restaurant is your quintessential Filipino hole in the wall. Perfect stopping point for lunch or dinner on your drive from the Bay Area to Sacramento or LA, or if just taking a detour to avoid traffic on 205.

I’ve heard good things about this place. We ordered 2 Kare Kare trays here for a birthday party days before. When we got to the restaurant to pick it up with our receipt, they looked confused, I can see the panic, the lady went to the back kitchen. It took 15 min to get back to us. We got the kare kare, brought it to the party. Tasted it, and it was NOT a hit. It was barely touched during the party. It really didn’t taste great or look great either. I dont know if they forgot about our order and just put it together real quick, but it was pretty obvious…

Turon that I pre-ordered days before was over cooked . The banana was so hard to chew and I think they missed adding the sugar coating.

My family and I went here today, and the selection was scarce. As first timers, ordering was difficult & we ordered a large container of pancit noodles since I’m a vegetarian. The pancit noodles had small chunks of meat in them so I couldn’t eat it. We definitely won’t be coming back after today, my family enjoyed the meat options but the hassle was more trouble than it was worth.
