Great atmosphere! Very sweet staff. Really love the look of the place! Excellent hangout spot with friends. The food however leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered ribs, brisket, pulled pork and chicken. I will echo the other reviews. All meats were not seasoned, hard, dry and cold. If you reheat their food, it’ll be a tad better. But it’s worth a stop if you are not picky and you eat anything. The sauces were also pretty good. A bit on the sour side but great selections. The potato salad was super sour. The creamy corn was delicious. The Mac & cheese was soft and good.

I’ve been here a few times to try their two and three meat plates. Folks this is probably the best BBQ in the Bay Area. You can’t go wrong with their ribs as they’re delicious and the meat just falls off the bone. I also LOVE their brisket and tri tip…it’s smokey, juicy, and has the right amount of fat on it. You can’t go wrong with their mac n cheese, baked beans, or potato salad sides. I also brought my doggie and they gave him free brisket. This place is easily 5 stars.

Hidden among all the auto body, muffler, smog check and tire shops on Middlefield Road in Redwood City is Capelo’s BBQ. They are counter service restaurant where you pay at the cashier and get a number for your table. I got the two meat plate $26 (+$4 surcharge for brisket and ribs.) with beans and corn. The sides were so-so. I did like how you can get four different kinds of sauces at the self service station along with jalapenos, pickles and onions. The brisket was too lean for me. I prefer the ones with more fat. The three bone ribs were not to dry and retained some moisture. Both had good smokey flavor. The service was excellent. When I was putting down my little thing of pickles and sauces on the table, I almost dropped one but saved it with my wrist. One of the workers said nice catch and got me some napkins as I got some pickle juice on my wrist. Haha.

This is REAL Texas BBQ folks!! I’ve eaten at Terry Blacks in Austin, and Franklin’s. I’ve been to the Pit Room in Houston. This place is VERY close to some of the best BBQ in the country. The brisket is an 8 out of 10. The ribs are a 10 out of 10. Possibly some of the best ribs I’ve ever had. Good people and the prices are fair. Highly recommend.

What fantastic BBQ joint! Visiting California from Florida for 10 days this was the best restaurant of the trip. We tried a bit of everything and it was all excellent. My favorite was the ribs, beef brisket, and sausages. The sides were great too. Super friendly staff and owners, cool artwork and atmosphere, and great beer selection. I can’t wait to go back on my next visit to the Bay Area

Nice plate of food, decent portion size and served piping hot. Beans where awesome, cream corn could have used some embellishments but was tasty. Also had the basque cheesecake and was quite tasty. Hope to visit again soon
