Food was absolutely delicious. Order the chopped brisket, smoked baked beans and potato salad. Brisket was so flavorful and moist. Been to other so called BBQ places and the meat is usually dry and tough. Pitmaster Mike knows what he is doing. LOW AND SLOW. He said he smokes his meat 16 to 18 hrs. which is what makes the meat tender, then allows me meat to rest which locks in the moisture. Looked at the 1 star reviews at the posters other reviews and they rate just about everyone at a 1 star so don’t pay any attention to their reviews. They don’t know what they are talking about. Definitely worth going to again and again. I will. Hope you stay here for a long long time. Definitely suggest expanding when and as soon as you can. Checotah has a winner here.

Had the prime rib our second time here and it was pretty good came back for another try to see if Mike got lucky or if he really knows what he’s doing and to my conclusion he does. for all the April’s or Karen’s who don’t care for his kind of cooking thank you (more for me) or you can just give his food a try and make your own decision thank you Mike and staff for making us feel special keep it smoken

So good and so much food for a great price! Brisket is smoked for 16+ hours and is the tenderest you will ever eat. Photo is of a 2 meat dinner plate with chopped brisket, links, Mac and cheese, and beans; all for $14.00! This is a must stop if you’re near the area! Staff is sweet as can be too.

We are “weekenders ” at the lake. Visited this restaurant last weekend after doing a Google search. Got the loaded mac & cheese with pulled pork & loaded baked potatoes with brisket. WOW!!!! At first I thought it was pricey, but when I got home & we opened our containers, there was ALOT of food. 2 meals worth for each dinner. And it was delicious!!! My only complaint was I didn’t know where it was located & apparently Google Maps didn’t either. Drove around in circles for 15-20 minutes before I was able to reach someone at the restaurant to tell me where they were at. But besides that, I will definitely be back!!

Very good ribs. Meaty, tender ,& full of flavor. The fried okra & beans were a great compliment. Our server was happy, friendly & knowledgeable of menu. The owner/ chef came out to talk to us. Gave us a brief history of historical building he’s in. This is a must stop.

I ordered the Hot Link sandwich and fries. Sandwich was a large portion compared to other BBQ restaurants in the area. The fries were the hand cut type which I like best. The owner came to my table to check that everything’s good. I like that too. He was very friendly with all the other customers in the room. My only complaint would be that the server never returned to my table after dropping off food. I was ready for a refill on my tea, but needed to move on. My tip was minimal as it should be. Looks like this is a new business and had a few issues to work out. I hope they do well as I definitely plan to return to try the loaded fries.

Didn’t even make it out of the restaurant before giving it 5 stars. Brisket, pork butt and ribs were unreal. Sides were so good, I felt bad ignoring them…but that meat required my attention. The sauce was awesome too but I only used it to dip my bread…nothing needed sauce!
