This is an absolute gem of a sushi restaurant, I cannot recommend it enough. Everything was delicious, the staff was polite and attentive. Every roll was delicate, flavorful and absolutely decadent. Their signature nigiris were so clean and fresh. I couldn’t get enough and wish I lived closer to Kanji. I cannot say it enough to come here and experience their sushi. Would definitely recommend getting a reservation for a weekend visit. 10/10 sushi restaurant.

Wonderful omasake experience. The owner and staff were incredibly well-educated and prepared a sake pairing list for the dinner. The owner taught us about sushi preparation, cuts of fish, Japanese culture, and traditional ways to eat sashimi (other than buckets of soy sauce). I left the restaurant VERY full and loaded with fun facts to share. The dinner was such a special experience to share with my parents, too. Thank you, chef!

Excellent quality and very fresh, unfortunately the prices are too high and sauces too heavy. After tax and tip, $7 for fresh wasabi and $30 for two pieces of otoro is difficult to justify. Rolls themselves were good, but both were swimming in sauces that made them soggy and overpowered the flavor of the fish, not what you expect for a $37 roll. We both felt with such high quality ingredients the sauces were completely unnecessary. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive; I do think management should always come by to ask how everything was though. We’ll likely give it another shot after more time has passed to see if any of the above has improved.

March 2023 – A hidden gem in College Station & the best in what they do. Japanese theme/ touch is in everything, including the cocktails – will have to experiment with several to find the one you like 🙂 Food was outstanding- really impressed with the food quality. Some items on the menu really surprised me – to find this in a small town in Texas – Impressed! Although the restaurant has been open just few months, I think they have it figured out. Took away a star for atmosphere only because of the floors – not sure if the peeling floor paint finish was intentional 🙂

Best dinner in College Station we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend a visit. Everything we had was amazing. Service with Jeffrey was great as well. Chef Tai roll and gyoza were delicious as well, in addition to everything pictured below. Definitely best gyoza and sushi in BCS.

We had a great time celebrating my boyfriends birthday at Kanji! Our waitress, who was also bartending, was amazing and gave us great recommendations! Stay for dessert and get the matcha cheesecake, you won’t regret it!

We had a great time enjoying amazing sushi. The Sake-tini was a wonderful drink. The oyster shooters were delicious. We tried a bunch of rolls and desserts. They were all wonderful. The service was awesome too. We’ll be back

Great food! Best sushi in College Station by far. The drinks were good and interesting, the Blushing Geisha was a favorite and the Cucumber and Japanese Mint salad was very good. The staff was great and even an issue with the wrong sushi dish was handled with grace. Overall, worth checking out if you’re willing to spend a pretty penny on some high quality food.

The sushi was great. The Blushing Geisha was delicious. My only complaint was the chairs are very uncomfortable. Luckily we were not there for long, as the food did come pretty quickly, as did our drinks. The portion I had was small but we also ordered dessert and it was amazing.
