Absolutely outstanding meal. A true hidden gem in Grand Rapids. It’s so quaint, feels very European or like a small restaurant you’d find in New York, makes the meal more intimate.

Excellent! The wild rice…special!!! And then that fish is amazingly buttery and yum! Our waitress is exactly what you look for: attentive but not overbearing but most importantly knows her stuff. When i ask for recommendation,it’s because you’re the expert and I want your opinion., She did not hesitate to give hers l, had confidence in the menu and it showed.

The food is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. We got the half chicken, the spaghetti and the sweet potato cakes. For dessert we got the chocolate cake and the Meyer lemon ice cream.

We have been coming to Cafe Mamo consistently since they opened two years ago. In a city with great restaurants, this is hands down a favorite. Small menu with food sourced locally. Wine recommendations are always on point, the best service around, great customers who appreciate what the owners have brought to GR and always a great record playing. Don’t let the one bad review get you down…that guy gave Taco Bell and Pizza Hut stellar reviews. Take some time to enjoy an evening at Mamo. It’s a unique experience and one that we truly appreciate each time we go.

Followed the google reviews to Cafe Mamo recently while in Grand Rapids for the night. And pulling up wasn’t sure what to expect. What we found was simply delicious food made with care. Not the largest portions but worth the cost to get well prepared, healthy, easy to eat and enjoy food. If this sounds like what you are looking for, you will not be disappointed.

Have you ever thought: “I am an incredible chef and I should turn my dining room into a restaurant, where all of the food is delicious and the menu is small but rotates”? Because then you’d be copying Cafe Mamo’s vibe, and I’d be fine with it. This place is great for long, slow dinners with a few friends. We have been here a couple of times and I am already looking forward to coming back. If your menu includes the majority of a chicken, get it. You will not be disappointed.

I’m sorry to say that we were a little disappointed with Cafe Mamo. Four of us visited on a Friday night, and we are all foodies: we’ve been know to pick travel destinations because of the restaurant options. The food, atmosphere, and service at Cafe Mamo were all good, but not great. The prices were quite high (each dinner roll is $4, TINY cocktails are $13, etc), the menu is very small (no salads or soups, one Mocktail), and the wooden seating isn’t comfortable. “I’m having trouble finding the meat” in the pork shank – it was very fatty.

At Cafe Mamo you will undeniably get a quality meal. For the location, definitely much pricier than most other restaurants around. Even for a typical Grand Rapids restaurant, some prices trend higher. What you pay for at Cafe Mamo is the quality of ingredients. Intentionally locally sourced and small-community driven, Cafe Mamo understands the importance of quality ingredients to improve their elevated home-style meals.

This is a delightful restaurant that serves up fantastic food. I ordered the trout, and my husband ordered the ribs. Additional side of kale salad and rolls. The rolls reminded me of the ethnic from scratch bakeries in Milwaukee where I grew up. Can’t beat the freshness or taste right from the oven. Both the fish and ribs are a culinary creation -and the fish lent to a pairing of contact wine from Modales Winery. I liked the wine so much I purchased a bottle the next day from the vineyard. Appreciated the recommendations from Mamo Cafe. I found the owners friendly and open.
