Amazing mid mountain lodge at the bottom of Ruby lift. Tons of outdoor loungers for blue bird days. Full bar and awesome smoked meats. Get the brisket Mac. Holy brisket! Bathrooms are in an out building and gross. Do your #2 elsewhere.

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience while skiing or snowboarding at Keystone Resort, LaBonte’s Mid-Mountain Smokehouse BBQ is a must-visit destination. Located at the bottom of the Ruby Express Lift, the restaurant is only accessible by snowboarding or skiing, making it a truly special experience.

Great place to eat and catch some rays after a morning of skiing on Keystone.

It was crazy busy when I went. Line was long but servers did a great job keeping it moving. Super nice service despite the hecticness. They do what they can with mass producing food for a crazy rush, but the mac n cheese was just alright. The bbq looked good, but I did not taste it. Insanely overpriced as all ski resort food is, that’s to be expected. Food options: Candy bars, chips, Gatorade, mac n cheese, brisket mac n cheese, chili, beer.

Love this place! Music’s always playing. Chili bowl has the best price in the resort. And beer always taste better in the mountains. I’ve been skiing Summit County since I was a kid and this has always been my favorite on mountain spot.

Better price on mac and chili, $6 instead of $13 but beer is still outrageous at $9. The inside dining has been closed for 2 days, they wont have an excuse good enough as to why. They want to be tipped for working a window; ridiculous.

Though the BBQ is mediocre I think this place makes up for it in a few ways: location, location, location. Also vibe. On a nice spring ski day this place is popping off and I wouldn’t want to be at any other place in the world.

This is the perfect place to grab a hearty lunch on the mountain! The platter is about $20 but has so much food that it’s perfect to split between 2 or even 3 people (depending on appetites)! They also have quite the selection of barbecue sauces to choose from.

Best $6.50 beer I’ve ever had. Steps from Ruby and Santiago lifts, order drinks (beer, bloody marys were our favorite) from outside. Music playing, good view of Starfire, Mozart runs.
