Best Sri Lanka food in town. Amazing family owned and operated with a real Sri Lankan recipe. Owner is super cool with a smiley face. I would suggest if you really wanted to taste the Sri Lankan food this is the restaurant!!! I highly recommend this restaurant and am so excited to go again on our next visit to New York.

Outstanding authentic Sri Lankan food. I have eaten in Sri Lanka as well but this is genuine home cooked food. Family run restaurant with fantastic prompt, polite and attentive service. The fish cake and pol roti appetizers were great. The deviled specialty, Sri Lankan Fried Rice and Hoppers were sumptuous. This is a gem. Must try!!

The owner is very friendly but they are shorthanded and service is very very slow. Ordered 4 entrees and took over 45 min for the dishes to come out. The tea wasn’t ready until almost the end of meal. We added another order but got the wrong dish. I asked for some extra side curry but wasn’t told that it’s charged nearly the same as an entree…

The food at Red Pepper Diner is extremely flavorful and delicious. I really like the spring rolls, coconut sambol, dal, and curries. They have many options for vegetarians and vegans. The family that owns it is also very nice and welcoming. Definitely worth visiting and trying the excellent Sri Lankan cuisine.

Amazing fresh food! Came here for Father’s Day dinner. Having spent time in Nagercoil India a hours long boat ride from Sri Lanka, you appreciate the unique spice flavors of southern cooking. The kothu , fish cutlets and Sri Lankan chicken were excellent! The yam , curry leaves and coconut tastes all authentic. Food came out quick! Family run.

We truly love how many authentic restaurants there are in Beacon, and the Red Pepper Diner didn’t disappoint. I love how the Sri Lankan kitchen is colorful and heavily plant based which makes for healthy and vegan friendly dishes. Definitely adding this one to our list of preferred places to dine. Service was quick and passionate (it was great to learn about Sri Lanka from the personnel!).

Exceptional food, great service and very good prices. Very impressed with Sri Lanka cuisine and they had a lot of South Indian (Malayali and Tamil) dishes as well, all of which were packed with flavor and had great textures. A lovely small family run business (they own, cook and serve). Very strongly recommend.
