While on a visit to Utah, I went to Spanky’s for a bite and chance to meet up with an old high school friend. Spanky’s was my suggestion based on a recommendation. We walked in at 6:30. There were 7 in our group. It took 50 minutes to make our sandwiches. My son, who does not like sandwiches, ordered another menu item. The girl just look at him and said, “I don’t know how to make that.” We then proceeded to walk her through how to make their own menu item. After getting our food, we finally sat down to eat. Almost immediately afterwards, another girl came out from the back and said, “Just so you know, we closed 10 minutes ago, so could you hurry?” Had they mentioned the 7:00 close earlier, we just would have gone somewhere else. My bad for not noticing, but it never occurred to me that walking into a restaurant at 6:30 pm would push up against closing time. Still it was never mentioned until after our 50 minute wait. Instead of a nice visit with friends, we waited nearly an hour for our food, spent nearly $100, and then were promptly told to get out. Not the experience I envisioned catching up with my friend over a meal. Like milk on a hot day, Spanky’s was a bad choice. Food was just okay. Service was horrendous.

The veggie sandwiches were pretty damn good. Just wish they gave more avocado on it. Loved how soft and fresh the bread was, along with the veggies. Great customer service!

They charge more than listed on the board. Be aware. I really like Spanky’s, but when you go to pay the price they charge is more than what is listed on the board. This has happened several times to me. I have pointed it out. It’s like the price comes up with tax included and then they charge again – double taxing, ie I purchased chef salad, listed $7.75, rang up $8.06 and then tax on the $8.06. I wish they would fix and charge correctly – this always happens.

Never tried spankys before. I walked in an hour before close to be greeted by audible “no…. really?” “Why now?” “We already cleaned everything.” None of these things were said directly to me but was obviously about me coming in. There were still other guests inside enjoying their meal so and I have worked in the food industry so I understand the frustration when guests walk in right at close. An hour though? Highly unprofessional and distasteful. I don’t have a review for their food since I left and am doubtful I will return.

Very traditional and very good! Great customer service and fresh bread and food. We had to wait a few minutes but it was during the lunch rush and they make it fresh so that takes some time and I appreciate fresh food 🙂

Spankys is a great local sandwich shop. The food here is very good, with tasty bread, and lots of good meats and fresh toppings. The employees are always very friendly and make you feel welcome. My wife has had gluten free salads several times and they are always very good. This is a great place to grab lunch.

Great food and tremendous staff. Very busy but the lines moves quick. Good values for a great sandwich. Buy a drink before you go, $.05 per ounce. There Coke machine is not that good.
