I and my husband came to this restaurant everyday to buy lunch during our stay in Morehead. We love their food, and it is close to our hotel. Their chinese buffet is very good and enough variations. Price also reasonable. Parking area is also spacious, with a nice view.

My husband, myself and the 2 grands went for lunch. Got the buffet (frog legs), we had a great time ,until one of the employees little girl started to lick the ice cream machine and put her fingers all on the spout and proceeded to lick them too. I told the cashier about it and she took a rag that she wiped the counter with and wiped the ice cream machine with that dirty rag. I’m in awe about the whole situation. China Star please do better. I love your frog legs.

It’s hard to go wrong with a Chinese buffet. The selection is excellent and the facility and buffet are kept super clean. There is plenty of seating available, but the only contact you are likely to have with an employee is when you pay entering, or if you happen to bump into one of them filling the food items or cleaning. Not a big deal since it is a self serve buffet. The Broccoli beef is excellent, and the steak on Friday nights is great too!

Not what I thought it would be. This was my first time here. You pay as soon as you enter the restaurant. Styrofoam plates, cups, and bowls with plastic silverware. The food selection was decent, but some had been on the bar for a while. You have to seat yourself, get your own drink, and spend most of your mealtime swatting away all of the little gnats that were everywhere.

I always loved coming here in the past, the workers were always very polite and the buffet is great! However, now I think a great change to this restaurant would be to find someone who is happy to be at the register! The girl I saw the other day looked at my family up and down in a judgemental way when we walked in, and gave me a rude, little nod when I asked her if I gave her the right amount of change when paying. She didn’t just have a RBF either, but we could all tell that she was actually frowning at us. The only words she said to us was our total. Im not a snowflake and I would just assume she’s having a bad day but I saw someone else on here describing exactly who I am, which irritates me. Girl I don’t know who is raising you, but please note that manners will get you a lot further in life than acting like it’s an inconvenience for you to actually have to do your job!!!!!

It’s not bad. $17.50 is kinda steep for what you get, but it’s not bad. The food overall was pretty good. The atmosphere is weird. Pink neon, chandeliers, and styrofoam plates/cups caught me off guard. Kinda cramped, but… It’s not bad.

i’ve been eating here my whole life, up until a few weeks ago this would’ve been 5 stars all across. this business survived COVID and is a Morehead staple. lately there has been a young, rude female employee giving remarks and doing multiple things to customers that are NOT normal for this business. she has overcharged customers, not listened to customers directly and are eventually going to have people turn away from the establishment from her alone. i already avoid China Star lately because of that employee.
